Bordeaux Lac — Attraction in Bordeaux

I am staying in the area whilst students are on international work experience here so have a very varied view of engagement with the area. I didn't know what to expect from Google maps views etc. But the area is really really nice. Has a very lovely feeling and vibe to it. The loc retailers are lovely and friendly and very tolerant of my terrible french. There is a great number of amenities around and the restaurants in the area are fantastic and well varied. I couldn't really ask for more in a locale to stay and work! Most certainly worth being based here if you are on a city break or working away. Public transport links are excellent from the Burges De Lac tram stop and it takes very little time to make it to the centre of Bordeaux. Amazing place, will certainly be back for a holiday here...

Spent 4 hours here today. Started feeling oddly primal after the second lap through the marketplace. Found myself sprawled across a display couch, limbs heavy, staring at the artificial plants while families shuffled past. The geometric patterns on the pillows started speaking in ancient retail tongues. Something about the fluorescent lights and endless paths makes you shed layers of civilization. By hour 3, I was just a hairy creature seeking soft surfaces, clutching a half-eaten cinnamon roll like it was my last remaining connection to reality.
