Restaurant Shushu Falafel — Restaurant in Augsburg

Be careful - this restaurant is on a side street (follow the tram line) off the main Karlstrasse. Great choice of food, great tastes, a few tables outside.

One BIG downside for me (hence 2 points off), not a single smile from one of the four men working there to any of their customers, they were even veering towards surly! You order and pay at the bar (not easy to know and not explained - I was waiting there for five minutes like a mushroom waiting for one of them to greet and at least communicate to me). Service at the table after, smileless too, and when they go out and return from their cigarette breaks and look at...

Beautiful small restaurant with takeaway option. The menu features many delicious items from wraps to mixed plates for two people. I usually sit down outside, in winter inside, and have mint tea and a plate of muttabbal or haloumi. Each plate has usually a side salad, pickles, humus, mustard and a hot sauce, next to the main chosen item, plus a basked of at least 2 large pita breads is coming along as well. The food is fresh, delicious and comes at a very reasonable price! Love...

Wir hatten uns aufgrund der guten Bewertungen für diesen Laden entschieden. Dazu muss ich sagen, für mich sind die 4,5 Sterne nicht gerechtfertigt. Ich hatte das Falafel Sandwich und mein Mann den Schawarma Teller. Das Fladenbrot war sehr trocken und vermutlich gekauft. Der Schawarmateller sah wunderschön angerichtet aus. Allerdings war das Fleisch kalt. Das geht leider gar nicht. Im Laden selbst waren gerade einmal 2 Tische besetzt. Da sollte man meinen dass es schnell gehen könnte, sodass es nicht passieren kann, dass das Essen kalt ist. Es ging zwar schnell aber trotzdem kalt. Vom Geschmack her war es ok. Die Portion des Tellers empfanden wir als etwas zu wenig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Der Laden an sich machte einen etwas schäbigen Eindruck. Ziemlich herunter gekommen. Unter den Treppen werden die Tomatendosen und das Fladenbrot sowie sämtliche Vorräte gelagert. Was auf mich leider keinen besonderen Eindruck machte. Die Toilette (1 Unisextoilette) befindet sich im Untergeschoss. Die Wegbeschreibung (Zeichen an den Wänden) sind etwas schwer erkennbar, da man auf dem Weg dahin ziemlich abgelenkt wird von allen rumstehenden Dingen. Leider sah die auch nicht besonders gemütlich aus.

Wir werden nicht mehr wieder kommen, da es sicherlich bessere Läden gibt.

Ich möchte noch einmal anmerken, dass das Personal vermutlich nicht geschult ist aber...
