Ein sehr farbenfrohes und optisch ansprechendes Gebäude mit einer interessanten Historie.

Der Vorgängerbau wurde im Jahr 1389 erbaut und diente als Sitz der Weberzunft bis zu ihrer Auflösung im Jahr 1548. Es war ein zentraler Punkt des mittelalterlichen Textilhandels in Augsburg.

Der Bau wurde abgebrochen und 1913 durch ein neues, ähnlich geformtes Gebäude ersetzt. Die Fassade wurde ähnlich bemalt wie die des Vorgänger. Diese wurde aber Zwischen 1935 und 1936 in einem völlig anderem Stil neu bemalt.

Im Jahr 2004 gab es einen verheerenden Brand im Dachstuhl, wobei auch die Fassade beschädigt wurde. 2007 und 2008 konnte mit Hilfe eines Fördervereins der Zustand vor dem Brand...
