Unfortunately there were no indications giving the direction to Legoland on the road. We parked the car in one of the numerous, large and spacious parking buildings and got lucky to find some other persons who were familiar to that place and who could give us directions. Legoland wasn't much to our liking, but kids liked it. It was extremely busy, loud, stressful and pretty dirty. Cups of coffee and popcorn littered the floor and we had to watch every single second our kids to prevent them from grabbing that garbage. For older kids it's fine, but for young kids definitely more difficult (as it was perfectly clear by watching exceeded parents of other toddlers). Also the slide on the playground is pretty dangerous. The stair case bringing to the slide has very high stairs. Again big kids no problem. Bad for small one ones. And the end point of the slide was about 30-40cm off the floor. Which means the kids kept falling and hitting their butts or backs on the hard flooring. Here again, fine for older kids who understood after getting hurt the first time and further on used their feet to break at the end of the slide so they wouldn't fall. But bad bad very bad for the back of the small ones who can't do so yet. And no adult can run fast enough down the stairs (after bringing the child up the stairs to slide) to catch and prevent the child to get hurt while falling after the slide. It's fine only if 2 adults look after 1 single child. As we have 3 kids it was more than annoying. We won't get back there...
Read more38€ with discount coupon from a lego catalogue or magazine for 2 kids and one parent with time limit for 3 hours… This is the 4th time we visited the LEGO Discovery Center in Oberhausen over several years. 1st time 6-7 years ago so probably since 2015. Over the time not much has improved… but some things got even worse like the higher prices (OK inflation i get it)… and the time limit?! 3 hours time limit is not OK LEGO! Especially for people with small kids who visit the first time. For us the 3 hours was OK… but we could not see all the 4D movies 🎥 during that time. One attraction had a technical defect why we could only use it once. The overall experience was good and the kids had fun and me as a LEGO loving adult too. Will we visit the discovery center again? NO we will not and spend the money on LEGO sets directly or visit the LEGOLAND DEUTSCHLAND 🇩🇪 or Billund. Would i recommend the discovery center to other people? Yes absolutely if the time limit is removed! 3 hours are really short and people should protest against it. I also left a review on the tablet in the discovery center to explain my frustration about the time limit. Take the combi ticket 🎟 with SEA LIFE together which can be used at the same day or within 90 days for +11€ per person. If you have kids from 4-9 years it’s a great experience. Go with one adult only eventually. Much to see and experience for the first time. Have fun and enjoy the LEGO...

The LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Oberhausen is a popular indoor attraction for families with children, offering a LEGO-themed experience filled with colorful displays, interactive exhibits, and creative building opportunities. The venue is conveniently located within the Centro shopping mall, making it easy to combine a visit with shopping or dining in the area.
One of the highlights is the MINILAND exhibit, where famous landmarks from around the region are recreated in intricate LEGO models. Children can also explore themed play zones, including areas for building their own LEGO creations, a small ride, and a 4D cinema showing LEGO-themed films.
While the center is certainly a fun and engaging place for children, it is best suited for younger visitors (up to around 10 years old). The activities focus on creativity and imaginative play rather than physical or mental challenges. This makes it an ideal spot for younger children or those who enjoy free play and constructing with LEGO bricks, but it may not hold the attention of older or more adventurous kids seeking something more dynamic or...
