Brückturm-Museum — Attraction in Regensburg

One of the interesting heritage buildings to see in the city centre of Regensburg is Bruekturm (Bridge Tower) which stands on the south side of the Danube and the Old Stone Bridge. We enjoyed seeing the attractive tower after a brief stroll on the bridge. It is a convenient attraction to view while in this area of Regensburg.

This gate tower once served as part of the city fortifications and dates back to the 13th-century. In the early 20th-century a large archway was built to allow room for trams to pass through. Today it serves as a museum and during part of the year (March to October - open 10.45am - 5pm) as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Visitor Centre...
