Strudelei Backwaren — Restaurant in Regensburg

“A day without strudel is like a sky without stars” was written on the board as we stepped inside. This statement rings even truer after having tried Strudelei’s strudels. We tried the classic apple as well as the apple/lebkuchen/cranberries strudel. Since it’s a very small place, there isn’t much seating available, however, the takeaway experience was great. The strudels are delicious. The hot vanilla sauce (clearly homemade and delicious) comes in returnable glassware to ensure insulation. The owner was very kind and polite, which made the whole experience even better. We will surely be returning to test every strudel option...

After having some excellent strudel while in Austria, I was on the lookout for promising options while in Germany. We quite literally came across this place on our way to see the Old Stone Bridge and I had to stop in. Good thing too! Not only was the apple/lebkuchen/cranberry strudel with warm vanilla sauce and coffee drinks delicious, we had a memorable connection with the owner. When we mentioned we are from Alabama, he said his father spent time in the 1960s working on the rocket program in Huntsville. That’s where we are from, so our visit was doubly blessed to hear...

We found this place by chance, after walking over the Old Stone Bridge. We got the Classic apple strudel without the raisins and it was delicious!! Totally recommend this place if you want to have a good taste of the authentic strudel. 🫶 P.S. we got to meet both of the owners who were very nice and told us about the family business and how the strudels are made. We will come back...
