The Chinese Garden Stuttgart is a viewing platform halfway up with a view over the valley basin of the city center. It is owned by the Stuttgart Beautification Association. The garden is available to the city's citizens and visitors every day for free use. Please note our information for inquiries of any kind.

Classic Chinese gardens are worlds on a small scale, microcosms with the elements of creation: stone layers represent mountains, ponds or lakes correspond to the seas, garden plants represent natural vegetation. This recreation of the landscape is intended to show visitors nature and its beauty.

The garden is intended to make the essence of the world tangible, the cyclical process in the cosmos, the rising and falling, spring and autumn and the world with its many opposites such as life and death, hard and soft, stones and water. All of this is symbolized by the pebble-paved Yin and Yang symbol at the garden entrance. The surrounding garden wall separates this ideal world from the real...

So, just to be clear, the garden is beautiful, however, it seems like there’s not much upkeep. There was a lot of trash everywhere and scribbling on the walls, very sad, this place has such good harmony… I guess if they charged for entering it would be different, but then it will miss the whole point… I don’t know.

If you decide to come here please don’t leave trash everywhere, and maybe pick up some of the trash lying around, that would be helpful. Be quiet too, this garden is a sanctuary, noise is disrespectful, even if it’s your kid making the noise, that’s bad parenting, okay for babies and toddlers, but teach your kids some...

I was traveling via Stuttgart Central Station and then my train got cancelled. Friend of mine had told me about this Chinese Garden and now was the perfect time to visit it! This garden is located 12 minutes (walking distance) from Stuttgart Central Station. When I was there luckily there were no people so that was perfect because I could relax. The Chinese Garden is not that big but it’s very beautiful! I think during the late afternoon it can get very busy, but otherwise no negatives! If you ever have the time, you must visit this place! 🌸

As some have written, this is a beautiful but small crowded place. However, there is a "secret place" usually not occupied by people when the observation deck with a bench is busy. Try going to the left from the chinese house, straight after bamboo grove you will get one more place to observe Stuttgart. Also, try to find the turtle in the green waters, its so cute ;)
