We stopped at Valle while visiting Stuttgart’s Christmas markets one weekend. The restaurant was packed, even at 6:00, but they fit us in a small table in the back with the note that the table was reserved at 7:00. We had a 7:00 appointment so it was perfect for us! They got us in and out with a delicious dinner within an hour with time to spare.
The waiter didn’t speak English and my German is spotty, but between the two of us, we were able to order without a problem. All the staff we met were personable, efficient, and nice.
The mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto was quick and delicious. For an entree, I got the truffle spaghetti and my husband ordered the veal. Both were good on their own, but together they were great. The creamy truffle sauce needed something salty to offset it and vice versa for the veal.

The pizza isn't traditional Italian pizza, it was a bit thicker and a bit doughier. We ordered the margarita pizza, it wasn't bad but wasn't great either.
We also ordered the eggplant appetizer with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Nothing special, wouldn't recommend this.
As for a pasta, we got the spaghetti with black truffles and Parmesan cheese. The portion is huge so don't order too much. The pasta was al dente which I really liked, not enough shaved black truffle on top but overall the taste was quite delicious.

Read moreWe tried Valle in Stuttgart and overall it was a somewhat okay experience. The restaurant seemed short-staffed during a busy period, which slowed down service, but we stayed polite and patient. The food was fine—better than what you’d find at a typical chain, though not exceptional. One downside was the amount of cigarette smoke outside. The smell was unpleasant and made the dining experience less enjoyable. In the U.S., there are rules requiring smokers to stay at least 30 feet away from dining areas, and it would be nice to see something similar here. Overall, it was an average visit with room for improvement, especially in service and the dining...
