Block House — Restaurant in Stuttgart

We chose this as there were good reviews and it was near main station to get to the airport. The service was extremely slow. I was sitting 20 minutes before I was asked about a drink. There was a really friendly female bartender and female host. Both of them were welcoming when I arrived. However, it seemed like all the waiters just didn't want to be there. They were quite abrupt with us. My German is basic but my friend is German and fluent and he also agreed with me that they were rude. Firstly,I had thought it was a language barrier thing. It could also be a case that the restaurant was short staffed that evening and they get paid very little to do double the work, and that's why they were so rude and abrupt. We ordered a T-Bone to share and it came with house salad to start. If you don't ask for the steak to be cooked a certain temperature it will come medium. We had it medium rare because we asked. We weren't asked our preference. The steak tasted slightly gamey, like it had been frozen and defrosted. The steak should come with fries, peppercorn sauce and some tasty mushrooms and fried onions. Instead it comes with fries and a piece of toasted bread(?) We won't be returning. The food was way too expensive for the quality and the service was poor. Let's skip my usual preamble cause I'm not in the mood for it. This has to be the worst steak I've ever had. I don't know how they manage to keep several locations open in Stuttgart.

I ordered a side salad and their 'master cut' medium rare, which comes with a baked potato and garlic toast. Infractions are listed below:

Steak came out very rare, on the border of raw of not still there. Steak was entirely bland in taste. Steak was not seasoned at all. Potato was bland. The sour cream atop the potato was absolutely horrdlid and inedible due it being warm. Not just from sitting on the potato, the sour cream itself was heated. The side salad wasn't seasoned either.

Maybe you're seeing a trend here, they don't season the food at all. I can apreciate the option for salt at the table, however, that doesn't mean you cook the food entirely without seasoning. Even without seasoning, I honestly have no idea how you get food to taste that bland. It's like they extract the natural flavors and throw them away.

If you appreciate steak at all, I highly recommend you cook it yourself or go to any other steak house.

My final rating, "This place is completely terrible and offensive to the culinary world. The only reason I'm giving it a two is because the steak was edible enough...

Ich und meine Frau waren am vergangenen Sonntag in dieser Blockhaus Filiale. Ich glaube, dass ich in der Lage bin hier eine gute Bewertung abzugeben, da ich deutschlandweit schon wirklich in fast jeder Filiale der Blockhauskette mehrfach gegessen habe in den vergangenen 20 Jahren ..

Zum Beispiel ist die Filiale in Nürnberg dauerhaft mittelmäßig .

Bielefeld genauso Service und Qualität der Gerichte mittelmäßig ...

Wirklich immer eine gleich bleibende gute Qualität im Service im gesamten Ablauf. Die Filialen, die gut laufen wo der Service gut ist sind wirklich Hagenau immer gleich freundliche Begrüßung freundlicher Service für mich meine Frau und meinen Sohn. Zuerst werden die Saucen gebracht und Beilagen dann das Essen serviert. Das Fleisch ist immer auf dem Punkt, die Kartoffel heiß und die sauer Cream ausreichend .

Und bei den Filialen, wo alles schlecht ist, ist immer das gleiche Bild. Der Koch bekommt das Essen nicht richtig hin. Zum Beispiel in Stuttgart hat meine Frau ein Fleisch bestellt Medium Well Und das Fleisch kam blutig Die Kartoffel war fast kalt Viel zu wenig sauer Cream Meine Gulaschsuppe lauwarm bis kalt Das Glas ungepflegt abgenutzt Von innen Abplatzung an manchen Stellen von dem Glas ..

Das Restaurant war natürlich sehr voll und trotzdem muss der Koch jeden Wunsch des Gastes gerecht werden. Wenn die Bestellung lautet, lautet blutig, dann blutig durch dann durch. Da hilft es nichts, wenn man sich in der Küche umschlägt.

Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und bemüht, meine Frau wieder gut zu stimmen. Was aber leider nicht möglich war. Enttäuscht war ich von der Serviceleistung, die mit unnötigen Ausreden versucht hat das Malheur gut zu reden. Zum Beispiel meinte sie, dass ein Naturprodukt nicht immer gleich ist.

Natürlich ist manches Fleisch, etwas weicher, das andere etwas sehr aber es ging um die garst Berufe. Das Essen war nicht durch die Suppe war kalt die Gläser waren ungepflegt. Da gibt es auch nicht zu diskutieren, sondern einfach nur sagen, es tut uns leid setzen Sie sich hin sie bekommen das komplette Essen noch einmal komplett neu gebracht Ruhigen Sie sich wir versuchen alles, um sie zufrieden zu stellen ..
