Aegean Outdoors — Attraction in Athens

Our Aegean Outdoors Island Hopper tour will be a lasting favorite for our family—a memory we’ll cherish for a lifetime. We traveled with our two teenagers (ages 18 and 15) and just returned home with all positive things to say. What we appreciated most was the perfect mix of staying active and time to explore on our own. We felt like we were truly experiencing Greek culture, not just sightseeing the usual tourist spots.

The accommodations were great. Each place we stayed had something unique and memorable about it, and every one of them served an incredible breakfast. Lunch and dinners were a variety of the amazing cuisine of Greece and the Cyclades in local restaurants that also provided a more genuine experience.

I recently visited Athens, Tinos, Naxos and Santorini on a custom tour led by Nandos and his intern Annie from the Aegean Outdoor Adventures Team. I was very impressed with how hard they worked to plan an outstanding itinerary for our group of ten adventurous women friends. Nandos varied activities ranging from excellent hikes with biking, sea kayaking, and sailing with cultural activities such as a cooking class on Tinos, wine tasting in Santorini and a variety of ancient archaeological sites. Great attention to detail was appreciated by everyone our group—every transfer, hotel reservation and tour went seamlessly! We all loved theme dinners planned by Nandos—ranging from seafood to vegetarian. We were all impressed by the cleanliness of Greece, the great customer service of all the people we met in stores and through the companies that worked with AOA (sea kayaking company, etc). In September 2024 we did the Mount Olympus Expedition (2 days / 1 night) to the summit of Mytikas. It’s difficult to put into words how incredible this trip was, you have to see it for yourself to understand. But what I can discuss is how amazing Aegean outdoors were, from our initial enquiry we had regular contact with the team, they answered any questions that we had very quickly and gave us so much confidence in them immediately. During the trip our guide was called Aggelos. Aggelos was absolutely brilliant, from his knowledge and experience of the mountain, his hiking and climbing tips, and his incredibly friendly demeanour. We absolutely could not have asked for a better guy to have spend these two days with, we feel incredibly lucky!
