It took us about 10 minutes to walk from our airbnb to the restaurant. We passed through the flea market and the whole walk was pretty entertaining. Anyways, it was pretty easy to find the restaurant with Google map. There were plenty of ground floor patio seating.and indoor seating. We approached the guy behind counter inside the kitchen. He let us pick our own table. For upstairs seating, you actually need to go up to the forth floor. It's not busy at 4pm when we went. We settled for the first floor patio seating for People watching. People smoked freely here so there were constant second hand smoking here. The street was very busy and we saw policemen writing parking tickets to pretty much every car parked on the street. For food, we ordered the greek salad (€6), the special meat platter for 2 (€20), the layered eggplant dish that came with meat (€8). At first, I thought the eggplant dish was too plain. Like it needed some salt or something. But as I kept eating, it tasted better and more flavourful. The greek salad was pretty simple yet fresh. The meat platter was big! The gyros were super soft and the meats were tasty. We liked all the food but we couldn't finish cause the portion was big.

I walked here for lunch on a Monday afternoon in late June 2022. I was not expecting much since this place was recommended by the front desk of our hotel for the rooftop view on the Acropolis. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. You have to walk all the way up to the rooftop to get seating there. There are additional wait staff there waiting for you. It is air conditioned with a glass enclosure to keep the elements out. We ordered a Greek Salad with the cheese on the side since my bf has a milk protein allergy. It was very simple and fresh. The real star of the show was the mixed meat platter. I did not expect it to be that tasty and flavorful. There's this red tomatoe sauce that was on everything and was super yummy. We paid an extra 1,50 euros to get more of it. The pork was my favorite, then the beef kabobs, then the lamb, then the chicken. If I were to go back I'd only order the pork and the beef. The pita bread that it came with was soaked in all the fat renderings. It was absolutely delightful. Could not have asked for a better first meal in Greece.

My experience here was horrible! I came to this restaurant because someone referred it to me and I wish I had never gone! I went to the counter to be seated, the woman told me sot down and a waiter will come. All 4 waiters saw me, walked by me, tended to other customers without acknowledging me! I had to literally interrupt them from walking to get their attention. They didn't bring me water like they did other tables who sat down. 4 tables sat down after me and got water and their meals before I even got water. I had to stop a guy to tell him I didn't get water but I already ordered. My beer never came even tho I ordered that early as I could. They deliberately ignored me. Felt very racist since not many black people are in this area. They flat out disrespected me by not paying any attention to me. I decided to grt my food to go. I should have jist left. The manager came and tried to fix it but the damage was already done. He was nice. And wanted to handle the situation. But the waiters were trash. Just ate the food. Chicken is super dry, the pork is real good and so is the bread. They didn't ask if I wanted any sauces or let me know the beer I wanted was out. Let's u know how they weren't taking me seriously. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! You'll get better service. Don't support racists!

4.5 we really enjoyed this place— definitely talked about as a favorite throughout our Greece trip. Savvas was recommended to us by our driver and we’re so glad he did! For our appetizer, we ordered Twister Zucchini, deliciously crunchy zucchini chips with a yogurt drizzle. The dish was so unique (we didn’t see anything else like it in Greece!) and perfect to share. For our main course, we ordered the falafel platter which is a must eat at Savvas. Truly. These were the best falafels I’ve ever had (bono because they came with some amazing hummus). We would genuinely go back just for these falafels. We also ordered the chicken gyro which we’re pretty good, though I wish it wasn’t deconstructed. We also got the Ayran, which was super smooth. Savvas’ plates run on the larger side. For reference, 4 of us ate one appetizer and 2 main plates. You should also head straight to the rooftop for a fantastic view of the acropolis & city. Overall, if you couldn’t already tell, highly recommend Savvas!!

Unlike the other restaurants we went to, this place is extremely tourist friendly without relying on salespeople grabbing you from the streets— every food item has a photo, and they provide free water instead of discreetly charging you a euro per cup. Food was delicious and portions were large. We ordered a kebab dish which the waiter recommended as it is their specialty, and did not regret it. The place itself is beautiful on the inside and out, decked out in decor, and well air conditioned. I was impressed. If you do go, I recommend you choose a seat yourself instead of letting the waiter pick a table for you so that you can get one with a good view. The service was not particularly special but this shouldn’t be a surprise given the restaurant is inexpensive.

The Beef Donner.....woooooow. Such an amazing flavour. This has to be the best donner i have had in Athens. It has such a nice taste with there special tomato sauce and the bread underneath its just so good. If you cant find a seat outside in the main road just remember theres a roof garden (lift takes you up and then a flight of stairs for the roof garden). It can be difficult to find a space though. Try and ask somone if the food you want is available before hand as they have ran out at times. Service is not the best here to be honest especially when you are on the roof garden. Its slow and the lady thats upstairs is not the freindliest at all. Price wise its good for it size and you do get a nice view from the top. Definitely worth a visit for the food.
