Rex Theatre — Attraction in Athens

I attended a splendid musical on a lovely Thursday evening to support one of my closest friends. Despite my general aversion to theater, this performance was truly exceptional. It was astonishing to see such young performers deliver a show with the maturity and poise of seasoned adults. My friend, in particular, was indubitably the highlight of the entire performance. Her dedication and talent shone brightly, making the evening unforgettable. I had the pleasure of presenting her with flowers post-performance, which was a heartfelt and memorable moment.

The venue itself was an architectural marvel. The building's art deco design was stunning, featuring intricate details and elegant lines that exuded sophistication. The grandeur of the modernist architecture added a layer of charm to the entire experience. It was a perfect blend of history and modernity, creating an inspiring atmosphere that complemented the artistry on stage. The thoughtfully designed interior, with its blend of wood veneers and high-quality galvanized steel fixtures, enhanced the overall ambiance, making the evening all the more special.

Following the performance, I enjoyed some fast food, which was a satisfying conclusion to the evening. The meal was delightful and I highly recommend it, as noted in my previous review. Went and saw a play called "Το ταξιδι" (in translation it means "The Trip"). The actors were mostly teenagers and the story was focusing on a common reality for many people. That is, running away from your home into a new country for a better chance to life. It was a moving story that was enhanced by the excellent director Mrs Vgienopooulou and the fact that the kids themselves had a similar story to tell. This is s high quality theatre, and one of the few that offers English subtitles for non-Greek speakers to be able to understand the dialogue. Note that the subtitles are displayed on a panel above the stage ship if you are seated too far back on the main floor the balcony will block your ability to see the panel. The play I attended they relocated us to the balcony (cheaper seats), but if you are attending a sold out show they marry not be able to do...
