Μάμ — Local services in Athens

We went looking for this place after learning about it in one of Mark Wiens' Greece videos. Small place in comparison to other establishments around it. A fast moving queue exists, made entirely of locals. It is not exactly located on the tourist foot path. The guy who worked there spoke a little english and was patient to explain all the varieties of pies as the menu is not in English. We had the pies with feta cheese, yellow cheese and one with spinach and cheese. All were fantastic. Not overly crispy and not too oily, just right enough with a good bite. We also had a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice which was simply divine. We had a couple of pies just standing outside and loved them so much we packed a couple more for later. Few things i didnt like was the customer service was very rushy and not friendly. Lady acted like we already knew the selection. They need a better system serving customers.they need to display their food closer to the customer rather then far away in a display cabinet 2 meters away behind a red roped off area. English naming of the food would be nice also as this is a known place for some tourists that see this place on youtube.

I would of purchased a selection of boreks pastries but because of the rushy customer service we just purchased 2 cheese boreks. Not sure even what it was called from the rush.

Thanks to a local advice we explored this traditional Greek pie little shop. They have different types of pie. We ordered one feta cheese pie, another type of cheese type and spinach pie. Spinach pie was my absolute favorite. We also took 2 filter coffee and 2 water. We only paid 7,5 euro. We just waited little bit for the coffee. But after we took our coffee, we understood why it took time little bit. Because it was freshly made like barista style.

Pies were full of also ingredients. In my opinion, it is the best Greek way to have a breaky here. When you come here, you also realize there are many local people who always comes...
