My partner and I had tried many restaurants in the neighborhood and wanted to try somewhere new and found this one walking by. We sat down and had to wave at the server 3 times before he came to take our order. Fried small fry (fish) was crispy, but small in amount. Steamed mussel was tasty, but again, small in amount compare to other restaurants would give and the price. Seafood in red tomatoes sauce in fried pan was so-so at best on flavor and comes with 5 mussel, 2 clams, one small crayfish and one shrimp for 14.50 euro (not worth it.) Grilled cuttlefish was also on the chewy side. Bread was 1 euro per person additional. Of course of top of that the service was slow to almost arrogant. Two of us left the place still hungry and went back to another restaurant and got two more plates to finish our dinner off. Definitely not...

This is a must! We've looked for a restaurant like this and eventually found it. Since 1932 guests are welcome here, and if I may say, made feel comfortable in different ways. The dark wooden interior of this location gives you an impression of the atmosphere of days long ago, in contrast to modern times - wifi is available. Everyone of the staff is friendly and ready to help, serving you quickly but without haste. The meals are excellent one as the other, and if you do not dislike any ingredients, I'm sure if you asked for a random meal you'd be satisfied. We enjoyed our stays here, were kind of enchanted sometimes, like you fear to wake up and having had a dream only. What shall we say more? Enjoy - and don't...

September 2024

Update

Back again for another great meal. We had the herb and cheese stuffed zucchini flowers, shrimp orzo in a tomato sauce, and a greek horiatiki salad. All were perfect. The only drawback was the large portions and my small stomach. I wish I could eat more!

For a genuine traditional Greek culinary experience, you've got to eat here. It's tucked away and well known by local lawyers who have keep the place quiet. My lawyer treated me to lunch once, and I keep going back on my trips to Athens. It's not your typical tourist restaurant even though it is so close to Omonia Sqaure. Shhhh, don't...

You can tell this is an old style Greek restaurant the moment you enter. Everything ranging from the decor to the older service staff to the menu just simply harps back to the 1930s. Classic Greek cuisine that's quite yummy. The seafood is fresh and highly recommended by the old gentleman staff that we should have the red mullet fried and not grilled. He was right. You can taste the natural sweetness of mullet as it is. No need for any sauce or condiments. The next main was the octopus stewed in red wine. This Greek dish is new time and its quite flavourful. Overall good tasty food at reasonable prices. 4.5 stars.
