We stumbled upon this place, before heading to the Archaeological Museum. My colleague and I both order a pasta dish with shellfish and crayfish respectively. To our surprise we were presented with a two large skillets of pasta with seafood. I believe a skillet was intended to serve two people, but not this day. Rather than using the tongs provided to serve the pasta from the skillet to the plates, we proceeded to consume directly from the skillet. After a bit of suffering and a 2nd wind, we were able to demolish both skillets of pasta. It was dericious. Proud of our achievement, we basked in our glory, till the waiter then served us dessert, on the house. However we suspected the waiters true intention, was to defeat the Spark Brothers in our conquest to demolish all food presented to us. Challenge Accepted. Though I had to fatally pause, still in food coma from the pasta, my colleague ploughed through, carrying the team, and super-setting between the two plates of dessert. With just a few bites left, I donned a 3rd wind, and rapidly scoffed down the last few bites. - The End. The Spark Brothers.
TLDR: Food was good, portions were massive, much better than anything else we had in Athens. Waiter was really nice and friendly and value for money...
Read moreTook a little time to find the restaurant, luckily the proprietor saw me looking rather confused at Google maps and shepherded us into his establishment.
We came in for a late lunch at about 2pm so the restaurant was pretty quiet and we had no problem getting seats.
Starting off proceedings we had taramosalata and a cold dish of octopus. First time I had the former and thought the texture was like hummus, but apparently it's fish roe, olive oil, lemon juice and some starchy base like bread or potatoes. It was nice either way. The octopus was tasty but I much prefer it hot. Should've gone for the grilled version that was available as a main.
For the main courses we had sphagetti with shrimps in a tomato sauce and sphagetti with crayfish in a white sauce. The tomato sauce was tasty and I thought the white sauce was a little bland at first until I used the supplied tongs to mix the sauce at the bottom with the sphagetti, it made a big difference to the taste as the sphagetti soaked up much more of the flavour of the sauce. There was a huge amount of pasta in both dishes which filled us up.
Overall, a decent meal at a...
Read moreAfter two weeks sailing holidays at different locations in the Saronic gulf and of course different restaurants during the trip, I found this restaurant at the last evening of my Greece trip… What should I say? One of the best of them, authentic Greek kitchen, a choice of very good fish and very very good starters. I had grilled sardines, the others grilled octopus and this fresh cooked shrimp plate in yellow sauce.. I tried everything of the main dishes we ordered, and of course the different starters we shared. The bean mousse was extraordinary, never got it like this one before, like the cold grilled and marinated aubergine ( egg plant). The service was kind and attentive, different people served our plates and drinks, everyone very friendly from their own, not a “tourist “ habit, like friends or family. Try the white housewine, as well a good surprise… what a good restaurant with authentic greek mood and atmosphere. At the end a very strong and delicious Ouzo, more like a Grappa. A strong...
