Let me begin by saying we booked this hotel room for our week long honeymoon. Both my wife and I picked Mykonos because of how different the destination seemed to us. I can not stress that the pictures of the view from the room do not do this place justice; gorgeous sunsets every night from our balcony/ private jacuzzi. Moreover, the owner, Nikos, went above and beyond during our stay. While I certainly get that this place hosts thousands and thousands of tourists, Nikos' suggestions for places to eat and visit were completely spot on including his beach recommendations. Upon learning it was our honeymoon, Nikos surprised us with a Greek dessert in our fridge - he truly pays attention to all the details.
When you come, do not expect a completely modern-chic experience - you get a room that is beautiful in it's elegant lighting and white appointments. You get WiFi, a jaccuzi (in some of the rooms), clean white linens, AC, a very comfortable bed, a spacious and relaxing shower, and views that are the stuff of dreams. This isn't your normal hotel - this is comfort; this is more of a home away from home.
As your "basecamp" Little Venice Suites is perfectly located in the heart of Little Venice. With easy access to both downtown Mikonos as well as the Old Port you will be overwhelmed in the best possible way with what options lay before you for food, drink, and fun. Furthermore, it's proximity to both Fabrika and Old Port bus stations make this spot a fantastic option for access to all of the beautiful beaches and locations on the island (our favorite beaches were Ornos, Super Paradise, and Platis Gialos). A quick note on the beaches: expect to spend at a minimum 20€ or 30€ on two sunbeds with umbrellas but it can be as expensive as 50€ for two.
Now for the negative. It took me sometime to think of the negatives of this beautiful hotel but I will give two. First, for those who might not be inclined to the excellent nightlife of Little Venice and Mykonos, you might not enjoy hearing the bass that sometimes - ever so slightly - can be heard through the incredible sound proofing of the rooms. To be honest, the only time this was apparent to us was our first night as we battled with jet lag. As soon as we were adjusted to the time change we hardly noticed it. Secondly, the doorways were a bit low so I hit my head more than a few times but that's my own fault for being tall.
This hotel along with Nikos deserve every bit of a...
Read moreI wish I could write a better review for this place, but I just can’t after how we were treated by the management...I guess the few other reviews are true regarding the management.
Initially, we were pleased by the location, the person that greeted us and the room. However, as time went on, all of that went downhill.
We noticed the hot tub didn’t work from the moment we were showed our room and that it was very dirty. The staff continued to give us silly excuses for why it wouldn’t work and never had a technician come and check it out while we were there, despite them saying they would send one out. After days of them giving us more excuses we asked them for a refund of the difference of what it would cost for a room that didn’t have the hot tub (as our hot tub was barely room temperature and pointless to use). While we figured this would be a reasonable thing to ask, the management refused to call us to address the situation and only would communicate via email and declined our request numerous times even after we showed that the hot tub should work better than what it did. Their final excuse was that 65F weather is too cold for a hot tub to operate normally.
Other than the useless hot tub, the room was kept clean but was very small and crammed. The view was nice though. The echo from the stairway makes for a very noisy room when people are moving in and out.
Compared to other places that we checked out in Mykonos (who’s hot tubs worked fine in that same weather), we conclude that this place is not worth the money or the hassle for what you can find elsewhere. If the management decides to address the refund solution in a more appropriate way, we would likely leave a slightly...
Read moreStayed here on our quick trip to Mykonos for our honeymoon. Located in Little Venice, this hotel is in the middle of everything which we loved. There was bars, restaurants, liquor stores, gyro spots, and shopping all at the bottom of your footsteps. It can get a little noisy at night, because you are in the middle of everything, but you're in Mykonos... so you're most likely up partying like we were. If you are looking for a quiet place in the summer, this isn't it. If you are looking to be in the middle of everything with an incredible location and to have some fun nearby with amazing staff, this is totally it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We loved our stay here and the views/jacuzzi in the room was the icing on the cake.
The staff was absolutely incredible and there when you need them via WhatsApp. They brought towels, robes, more coffee and anything we needed. Special shoutout to Erini who made our stay SO special! We LOVE HER! A handwritten note, with a bottle of wine upon entering our room to celebrate our Honeymoon. She was so easy to talk to and one of the kindest souls we met in Greece. We had a bumpy ride getting into Mykonos, and were flustered. She turned our frowns upside down and was overall soooo amazing. She get's an 12/10 in our books.
Another shout out to Hasan, who helped us carry our extremely heavy bag (100 lb) to and from where our car was and was such a help. This hotel staff is top notch and made our experience in Mykonos one we will never forget. I would recommend this place to anyone. Just stay here! THANK YOU...
