Stunning hotel. We stayed in the honeymoon suite as a group of four girls - there was a large double bed and two sofa beds that they made up for us. The room was quite small - we stayed in another hotel the night after as they didn’t have space to accommodate us for two nights and the hotel room in the second hotel was more than double the size. So it is quite compact, but the balcony was lovely with the hot tub overlooking the caldera view. It honestly is so stunning and worth going just for this. The service was great the staff were very accommodating, they also have a porter to help you bring your luggage to your room as if you know the area it is set into a hill so there are lots of steps involved down to the hotel. It is five star service and you are treated like Queens in this place. Generally Imerovigli it’s very quiet at night so I wouldn’t recommend staying for dinner, we did try Buddha bar but it was very very quiet, so we moved to the five senses restaurant with the lanterns for dinner which is just round the corner. Again it was very quiet but slightly more lively than Buddha bar. We were travelling mid September so it is towards the end of the season, however I think the area surrounding the hotel is known for being very quiet. On the plus side it is extremely relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle, And Fira and Oía are very close by for day trips or dinner trips. Breakfast was amazing and was served on your own private balcony which really gave it that five-star touch of class. Overall I really recommend the hotel, we didn’t have any bad experiences there, it is expensive but this is standard for the area - you’re paying a premium for the caldera view for sunset.

First - it is pretty far down the side of the caldera, which gives AMAZING views, but also means you should take advantage of the reasonably priced airport/port transfer they offer as it's down QUITE a few stairs. Reception staff (Anna!) were very helpful with arranging all extras, taxis, car rentals, etc. The bar/restaurant/cleaning staff were all very friendly and courteous as well. The rooms are spacious, and super clean, and ours had a superb view of the sunset over the caldera, with Skaros rock in view as well. Sunset view from the restaurant is stunning as well. The room was quiet once doors were closed, though the walls between units are not very soundproof - they muffle noise well enough. The pool was not heated, so depending on time of year, might feel a little cool, but it was great for a plunge after long walks up and down the many many stairs on the Greek Islands. Breakfast was served on our private balcony at the time of our choosing, and was delicious and plentiful - we never needed lunch! Our private (outdoor) hot tub wasn't always super hot, but always pleasant, and cleaned regularly. Nothing is perfectly private on Santorini - every balcony is above or below another, and sightlines are everywhere - but it was much more secluded than others we saw on our day trips around the area, due to being so far down the caldera side of Imerovigli. If we return to Santorini we are definitely returning to Tholos, in the room we had this time - we loved it so much, we extended our stay!

Some of the best view on the island! I honestly can't put into words how good the views were from our room. The room was a good size and we loved the plunge pool with the stunning caldera views (although it did end up being heated at the end of the trip for some reason). One of the best touches was the breakfast being delivered to your balcony each morning. You order it the day before either from reception or a qr code for your chosen time. there were a few times we couldn't have the time we wanted but it was no big deal. The staff are great and really helpful, from the moment you arrive meeting you at the taxi to take your cases until the moment you leave. The pool area is small but there was only one day there were no sunbeds, every other day was pretty quiet. Again the staff here were great. For such a great hotel though the facilities for freshening up before going home are terrible. Such a tiny room with a handheld shower in a room with no ventilation which is extremely hot. There's also nowhere to put your dry clothes to change into so this really was a bit of a let down. The only other minor criticism is that the room service menu was the exact one for the resturant which was too much for a quick dirty meal after being out all day. I would have ordered something like a pizza or souvlaki for tea.

Tholos resort was remarkable. The setting is near perfection and resort is lovely. The rooms, which are “caves” that the caldera is known for, are impeccably clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The views never cease to keep you captivated. Oh the sunsets!! The pool is popular among the guests. The staff are friendly, engaging, hard working and attentive. They clearly want your stay to be every you could hope for. The breakfasts that are delivered to your private balcony are delicious and plentiful. Room service is available for all meals and there is a lovely restaurant on the premises and several nearby. The village the resort is in is quaint and peaceful. Fira is only a ten minute walk away so you are very near a bustling town but avoid the noise and people. This is a special place and we could not recommend it enough. The views are some of the best in Santorini. Tholos will make your Santorini visit that much more amazing. All pictures are from the resort area or the room itself.

Tholos Resort is a spectacular and authentic hotel in the Caldera of Imerovigli. With this being our first time in Greece and Santorini, the landscape of Imerovigli was incredible--something we weren't necessarily expecting, but breathtaking all the same. Youre literally in the clouds. The Tholos Resort is literally nestled into the cliffside, right off the main footpath that goes from Fira to Oia, but the nice part of Tholos is that your room is more secluded and doesn't have a lot of tourists passing by. And the porters graciously carry your luggage down the narrow steep steps to your room. The rooms are very unique with that authentic cave-style, and complete with a patio where breakfast is served direct to your door. We also had a hot tub to enjoy the views in the morning and the sunset in the evening. Really cool experience!

Great service. Great facilities. Great view. Skaros Rock is right there. Better sunset background that Oia. Quite a few steps between the lobby and the pool, but you are on the caldera rim, so we know we signed up for this and it is worth every step. Taxis will drop you off at Astra Square and ours called ahead so there was somebody to help us with our bags. If you book tours, check to make sure they pick you up from Astra Square or from another square in Imerovigli. They are cave style rooms so not a lot of room for large bags. We took carry on bags and they helped with laundry when needed. Our plane arrived early in the morning and before our room was ready. We were escorted down to their pool and a bar tender was sent down to fix us drinks before the pool bar officially opened.
