This was our last meal in Santorini and unfortunately it turned out to be the biggest letdown of our trip. To make it worse, it was also by far the most expensive meal we had on the island.

The food started strong. The scallops and lobster pasta were excellent and probably the highlight of the night. The ribeye (Greek veal), which was highly recommended to us, was just okay. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great, and definitely not nearly as good as other steaks we had in Santorini.

The service, though, is what really ruined the evening. Aside from the genuinely kind hostess, the whole experience felt rushed and chaotic. Servers were constantly hovering, swapping in and out, and pressuring us to order before we’d even had a chance to look at the menu. It felt like they were more focused on pushing things than letting us actually enjoy our experience.

The wine situation was even more frustrating. We ordered a bottle, only to have a different server show up recommending alternatives, starting with the most expensive one, without ever telling us the bottle we chose wasn’t available. I love wine and tried to engage in the conversation, but the server completely ignored me and only addressed my husband, even handing him the cork and first taste until my husband insisted it go to me. It felt dismissive and unnecessary.

On top of that, smaller details made the night even worse. The restaurant is on a hillside and after sunset it gets cold. We noticed other tables being offered blankets while we were not. The staff all wear earpieces, and it was obvious from their looks and body language that we were being talked about. It made for a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience.

In the end, the night felt overpriced, pretentious, and nowhere near worth it. I read a number of positive reviews prior to booking. The reviews are one of the main reasons we booked. It's just so disappointing that we didn't have the experience that everyone else seems...

Blu is an absolute must-stop on any Santorini itinerary. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a sweeping 180° view of the caldera, easily the best sunset view I’ve experienced on the island! Unlike many caldera side restaurants that feel cramped, Blu is spacious yet intimate, with a resident DJ setting a subtle, sophisticated vibe that still allows for quiet conversation.

The upscale, organic inspired décor, think light white oak, soft white fabrics, and a clean, airy design, perfectly complements the surroundings. One huge plus: easy access and parking. Blu is the first restaurant in Imerovigli, so no endless stairs or winding paths, your driver can drop you right at the entrance. In Santorini, that’s rare.

The food is every bit as memorable as the view. The menu blends authentic Greek favorites with upscale meat cuts and refined presentations. Our favorites were the green pies (a must-order!) and the roasted carrots — so simple yet absolute perfection. The plating is beautiful, and the flavors shine.

Their wine list is extensive and thoughtfully curated, featuring both local Greek bottles and sought after French and international selections. The staff is warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about both the menu and wine pairings.

From start to finish, our experience at Blu was 5 stars, the highlight of our entire trip! I wouldn’t be surprised if it soon earns Michelin recognition. If you’re in Santorini, make Blu your sunset dinner...

Blu in Santorini gave us the best restaurant experience we’ve ever had. The setting is unreal—perched at the top of the island with a view of the caldera that looks like it belongs on a postcard. Watching the sunset from there was unforgettable, and was the best memory my girlfriend and I have shared together yet. I highly recommend going an hour or so before sunset and watching as the world's colors change as the sun descends. It honestly looks like the sea is clouds and you're above the clouds.

The food was just as incredible. I ordered the steak(highly recommended), which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and my girlfriend had the ox tail pasta, which was rich and tender. We finished with a chocolate brownie dessert that was just as impressive, beautifully done and delicious. We also had fun taking pictures of macrons given to us at the end of the night 😂

What really made the night special however was the service. Our waitress, Ioanna, went above and beyond. She was warm, attentive, and thoughtful in every detail, and even offered to take our picture so we could capture the moment. That kind of personal touch made the evening feel truly special.

We’ll be talking about this night for years. Blu isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a memory we’ll...
