It was close to our hotel (Yria Hotel), so we tried it on our first day. It was actually really nice apart from the stones, which made it a bit hard (and painful) to go in and out of the water. When you cross these stones, the bottom becomes sandy, which was a nice change.
The water was pleasant when we got there (around 20:30), and after the sun set, Zante's lights were beautiful.
Overall I recommend trying out this beach at least once while you are in the city, but honestly, there are other, nicer beaches that are only a 30 minutes bus ride away from the capital (Kalamaki,...

You can also order drinks and food to eat. the beach itself is rocky but if you bring your swimming shoes it won't hurt you. And great staff who are in charge of the sun loungers, they speak excellent English and in fact they helped me a lot as I could not go to another beach....
