Overall, the location is the only good thing about this hotel. Except for the receptionist Philippos, and the bartender in the cafe, the staff is extremely unwelcoming and rude - customer service and satisfaction is close to null. Although the rooms look like they’re refurbished, our room smelled like sewage despite efforts of cleaning it up, the AC does not work properly, there is no complimentary coffee and water was only offered the first day of our stay. Another couple’s room even had cockroaches! Also, we could never seem to find a parking spot nearby as it’s always rush hour in the center and the hotel does not provide such services. The worst experience was the cafe - the breakfast buffet is very cheap with limited varieties given the food culture of the country and food was always served cold. It looked like the cafe waitresses are deliberately being rude. At one point, one of the waitresses screamed at me from across the very busy cafe for serving myself coffee from the breakfast buffet. She was scared i would break the handle!
Anywho, the location could never make up for the daily disappointments we encountered at this hotel - would not...
Read moreThe hotel is located in the centre, close the all the restaurants and shops, so very happy with the location.
First day we’ve arrived the receptionist was not welcoming at all, we paid for a room with double bed and we received 2 beds attached one to the other, very uncomfortable. I asked the reception to change the bed, or give me another room and they said that they will change the bed the next day. The next day, they’ve only changed the mattress and still had 2 beds. I complained again at the reception and they finally have me another room with a double bed, the guy from the reception was very nice and polite.( it was a different one from the first day) The second room was on, very small but nice and clean.
The breakfast buffet is very limited, didn’t have many choices but the food is ok.
The staff from the bar is very friendly
I guess I would recommend it mainly for the location, definitely not for...
Read moreWe stayed at the Phoenix hotel for three nights during the second week of May and found it seriously lacking in attention to detail. Breakfast service is self-serve from the buffet, there are trays and you pick your food as in a cafeteria , and if you want a decent coffee, you have to wait, as the waiters just stand around doing absolutely nothing. Once you finish eating, no one clears the tables. The food itself is mediocre, and there seems to be no supervision at all. It feels like the hotel is running on autopilot. It’s a shame because the location is fantastic—right in the center, overlooking the waterfront. For me, it’s one of the best spots. Unfortunately, the hotel is poorly managed and operates more like a small village inn on a Greek island rather than a proper four-star establishment. Regrettably, I won’t be returning, as I’m sure there are better...
