Batthyány tér is one of the most beautiful squares in Budapest, sitting right along the Danube on the Buda side. It’s famous for its postcard-perfect view of the Hungarian Parliament building across the river—especially stunning at sunset or when the Parliament is lit up at night. The square itself is a busy transport hub, with a metro stop, buses, and trams making it super convenient to get around. You’ll also find the historic Church of St. Anne, cafés, bakeries, and a market hall that’s great for picking up fresh produce or local snacks. Compared to the more touristy Pest side, Batthyány tér feels calmer and more local, but still gives you that breathtaking “wow” factor with the riverside panorama.

Great views of the Parliament Building and the River Danube, as well as some very pretty architecture on the right side of the river too. There are lots of bus stops very close to this location, which makes it a great place to stop off at to admire the views, and catch a bus or tram to almost anywhere else in the city due to the wide choice of routes.

It's one of the best place in Budapest. It's on the opposite bank of the parliament, which makes it the best place to take photos at night when the lights of the parliament are on. It's also accessible by many trams, suburban railway and metro 2

A prime spot for taking pictures of the Parliament building. There are helpful shops and cafes nearby. It’s also a useful transportation hub with a metro line, buses, and trams stopping here. The one issue is that there are almost always homeless people or drunkards around sometimes shouting obscenities. That said, I’ve never felt unsafe, it’s just unpleasant. (I wouldn’t sit around on the benches alone at...
