We were the only ones at the restaurant. Ordered 2 mains, 2 soups and a drink for ~9000 ft
We found the price a bit expensive, and the food was average tasting. It was find at the time since we were hungry.
Then halfway through my meal, I found there was a hair in my potato stew. I took it to the server inside who shrugged her shoulders and said "So? What do you want me to do?"
I said, well I would like to be reimbursed for this stew. She said "Well I'm not the owner I can't do that. If it was me I would just eat it."
I was shocked. The other waitress was also there and asked what's going on. The first server told her I had a hair in my food. That waitress also shrugged her shoulders and said "Well the chef has hair too you know"
It was quite surreal, I should have known there was no adherence to any hygiene when I saw the server grab the spoons by the side you put in your mouth after she handled the cash register. Also when she tried to convince me to buy ionized infused water for magical benefits I felt I had made a mistake, but was too hungry to go elsewhere.
Since I was unable to get a refund I negotiated for a desert in good faith. Like the service, it wasn't good either. The server didn't come out once to ask how we were doing or if she could get us anything.
All in all, mediocre food, overpriced, and...
Read moreMy favourite restaurant in my favourite city! Édeni Vegán is AMAZING! If you’re in Budapest and looking for beautiful, home-cooked vegan soul food this is the place to be! With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, this restaurant has a homely, relaxed, friendly vibe. The lady who owns the place is absolutely delightful, so helpful and happy, and her cooking is incredible. I went here multiple times on my last trip to Budapest, the food is different every day, but always with a good selection and ALWAYS cooked to perfection! The prices are very reasonable, the quality of the food is great and you get a lot for your money. I can’t recommed this place highly enough, I love it here so much and I will...
Read moreHighly recommended! I love that they offer veganized versions of traditional Hungarian dishes, and that you can mix and match the different soups, mains, sides and salads, not to mention the generous dessert selection. The menu changes daily but the staff kindly present all options. I appreciate the complete nutritional profile of the offered menu, especially the different protein sources, e.g. seitan, sausage and tofu (so not just legumes for protein, as sadly many other places do). The food was full of flavour and the portion sizes large, we could barely finish our food, so dessert became a take-away. The prices are on the...
