Cafe/Restaurant with a great view over river Danube on the Hungarian Parliamentary Building (one of the biggest tourist attractions). Good selection of drinks and foods, not too few, not too many - with a good presentation and with a decent variety in prices (from cheaper options to more special ones if you want to treat yourself). Considering the views from the big terrace the prices are very fair. In addition to views this place is right next to a major transport hub Batthyány tér (Metro 2, Trams 19 and 41)), so it is easy to get to, and you can watch people hurrying every which way while you relax. However, thanks to the trees and the open nature of the area the traffic noises are not troubling (at least not to me). Staff has been friendly the couple of times I have been there, remembering to ask if I want this or that with my selection without pushing excess optons - much appreciated. We visited this restaurant with my friend. The staff didn't speak english very well but instead of hello or something the waiter shouted out "cash only". He was very rude and looked bothered by our visit. The restaurant was almost empty and we waited for 2 lemonades, 1 dessert for about 15 minutes. My friend ordered the most basic spaghetti and we waited for an hour only to find out that the waiter forgot about it. We asked repeatedly if the food is going to be ready because we wanted to leave. He didn't apologize and kept saying 10 minutes. We waited another 20 minutes and asked again. Another waiter resolved our problem and the food ended up being on the house. It was cold and with hair in it so my friend didn't even finish it. In the meantime the same waiter had a problem with another customers and it was resolved by shouting and him smacking tables. Overally very unprofessional and not very pleasant visit....

For English please scroll down! Az étterem még nem gyógyult ki a kilencvenes évek turistakopasztó hagyományából, de erről később. Az étlap a számos kreatív ételköltemény mellett klasszikus magyar fogásokat is tartalmaz. A tálalás ízléses, az ételek finomak. A pincérek nem tűnnek fel gyakran, de megjelenésükkor igyekeznek nagyon kedvesek lenni (mesterkélten túlzó udvariasság) és angolul is könnyen megszólalnak. Az árak tartalmazzák a dunai kilátást. Ami meglepő volt:

1. az elhasznált étlap idegen nyelvű részének pongyolasága
2. a pincér fogyasztásunk közben megjelent és bizalmaskodóan közölte, nem fizethetünk kártyával. Kb. Nem tudom említettem-e, de kártyával nem tudnak fizetni, nem baj? - Jó, és ha baj, akkor tudunk? Ez a körülményes felvezetés olyan volt, mintha csak úgy "bepróbálkozott volna"...
3. A SZERVIZDÍJAT TARTALMAZZA A SZÁMLA! Ez fontos, ugyanis az étterem minden erejével megpróbál meggyőzni az ellenkezőjéről. Például az étlap egyenesen azt lódítja, hogy nem tartalmazza (angolul "not includid" :D). A blokkon alig lehet megtalálni (lásd kép!).
4. a pincér az orrunk előtt nyitotta ki a számlatartó mappát és számolgatta a benne hagyott összeget... akkor minek a mappa, ha még leplezni se próbálja a bizalmatlanságát? Tehát az összbenyomás, hogy ez a mutatós helyen fekvő, mutatós étterem filozófiájában nem tud felnőni saját adottságainak színvonalához, hogy a vendéget tisztelje, bízzon benne, ne csak komédiázzon a nyereség reményében. Az lehet persze szerencsétlen véletlen, hogy a mézesmázos pincér jelmeze mögül kicsillant egy hamisítatlan proli, aki a pénzt a vendég orra előtt számolgatja vagy furcsa bizalmaskodással közli, hogy nem fizethet kártyával, de mindezt azzal kiegészítve, hogy a menü szerint nem fizettetnek szervizdíjat, miközben meg DE, ez intézményesített, jóváhagyott vendégkopasztási hagyományra utal.

Be careful to DO NOT PAY TWICE! You can find many creative foods here and classical Hungarian dishes as well. They are delicious and artistic creations. The waiters try to be polite, they are speaking in English, but we could not catch them so often. The prices include the view. But... The written English/German translations are not the best. Unfortunately, we could not pay by card. According to the menu, the bill does not include ('not includid'...) the service fee, but IT DOES! Despite you can not find it easily on the bill!
