Nehru Park in Thrissur is truly one of the most relaxing and family-friendly places in the city. Located at the center of Thrissur, it serves as a green escape amidst the busy town atmosphere. The park is especially well-maintained, with beautiful lawns, flowering plants, and shaded trees that make it pleasant throughout the year. For anyone looking for relaxation, calm morning walks, or an evening outing with children, this park is a perfect choice.

One of its highlights is the dedicated children’s play area, which has swings, slides, and open spaces where kids can play safely. Families often bring their kids here after school hours, and you can feel a very lively yet peaceful atmosphere. The walking track is wide enough and surrounded by greenery, making it enjoyable for morning walkers and fitness enthusiasts. Many people use it as a daily routine spot for walking, jogging, yoga, or light exercise.

The park also has benches under tree shades that allow visitors to sit, read, or just enjoy the fresh air. The environment is safe, clean, and quiet compared to the city outside, which makes it popular among daily visitors. Another special feature is how the park is often filled with school children on weekends or holidays, as it is an affordable and wholesome place to spend time outdoors.

Thrissur corporation Nehru Park in Swaraj Round is a blessing for people of Thrissur and those who visit the town, It is really a thoughtfull idea by maintaining such a park in the heart of the city, there was a delightful atmosphere with families, groups and couples strolling through the pretty gardens during evenings. There are many playing rides are placed to children.A beautiful garden with all its beauti maintained there.Very nice place to walk and talk with friends, couples, parents spend our evenings and holidays sitting in the shadow of the trees on the green carpet grass.this park is owned by the municipal corporation of thrissur, and at present is in a dilapidated condition, due to lack of maintenance and total neglect from the authorities, there is a children's section having rides like see saw, swings and slides. it is better to keep the children away from these rides, because all of these needs urgent repairs. The recent modification and installations of some new playground materials for the kids are a relief. But considering the crowds that are attracted here in the weekends, it is insufficient.

Very few people in Thrissur Corporation now know that "Nehru Park" was inaugurated by then Vice President of India Dr S Radhakrishnan in 1959. The campus is laid out on 8.5 Acres of Land, it is reasonably well maintained with the variety of Flora and Fauna. The earlier park used to house an aquarium and a children's library. Which has given way for a synchronised fountain and many modern play equipments. The park also houses many sculptures, simple gymn equipments for health consciousThrissurites. There are two grand entrances to the park, but parking inside the swaraj round is slightly tricky and you better use the entrance at the shornour road junction. There are also clean toilet fascilitates for Children and benches for parents to watch. At any given time the play areas can accommodate 500 - 1000 children in the premises and since all this comes free, if you are traveling to or if your kids are hooked on to the mobile and television, this would be a healthy and pleasant alternative. Strongly recommend the space. The lone missing star is possibilities for improvement in landscaping.
