GURUDWARA SHRI GURU MAHAL SAHIB is situated in the Amritsar City. Its near to the GURUDWARA SHRI HARIMANDIR SAHIB. SHRI GURU RAMDAS JI and his family was staying here. SHRI GURU RAMDAS JI founded the city of RAMDASPUR (Modern day AMRITSAR) and began excavation of "POOL OF NECTAR". SHRI GURU ARJAN DEV JI got married here and was also blessed as GURU here. SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI was also married here. This place is also birth place of BABA ATAL RAI JI and SHRI GURU TEG BAHADUR SAHIB JI.🙏

Located deep in the narrow streets, this is a place of history as many of the gurus lived or were born here. It is accessible by two/three wheelers and with good driving skills four wheelers (and then it’s walkable). There are ruins of the old buildings around which give the temple a regal look. There is langar as all places and free headcovers, drinking water and shoe rack like most gurudwaras.

The gurudwara is also known as Guru Ka Baag. The gurudwara is very well cleaned and maintained. Many devotees seek their blessings from the Almighty. The provision of langar is available for 24 hours. The gurudwara is very good built and is being constructed more.

ਇਤਿਹਾਸ : ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਮਹਿਲ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ) ਦਾ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਘਰ ਸੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਇਸੇ ਅਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ, ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਗਲੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਸਥਾਨ, ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਹਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਿਯਾਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਬਿਕਰਮੀ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਲੰਗਰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪੁਰਬ ਇੱਥੇ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਗੁਰਪੁਰਬ ਹੈ।

Its traditonal place for Sikh people. It's house of Sikh guru sahib. Gur Tegh Bahadur Sahib's birth place and very famous in town. It's walking area, no cars or no parking here. Very tight streets.
