The Venkateshwaraswamy temple established by TTD as a prayer hall in the year 1975 in t nagar now stands as a temple, where hoards of devotees take out time to have a lovely darshan of Venkateshwara swamy
I have been in Chennai for the last 5 years but have never been to this Temple.
This temple is conveniently situated just half kilometre from panagal Park in t nagar
the half kilometre walk towards the temple is pleasant given a lot of old trees exist and gives shade to the walkers.
There is a shoe stand outside the temple where you can place your slippers and shoes. timings are provided for sarva darshanam
830 am to 11 am. 11:45 to 2 pm. 4 pm to 9 pm with a 45 minutes gap at 6 pm
On Tuesdays wednesdays and thursdays the afternoon darshan stops at 1:30 p.m. instead of 2:00 p.m.
I have been to the temple on a Saturday there was not too much of rush
I had a peaceful darshan
There is a replica of bangaru vakili, and swami stands by, flanked to his right is padmavathi Devi, to his left are smaller utsava idol. I believe it is the same structure as thirumala
The idol of swami is much smaller when compared to thirumala, but it always feels good to be to swamis temple.
As you go around for a parikrama, I noticed that there is a free eye checking facility
A counter to book tickets for darshan at tirumala Once the parikrama is complete, there is one book publication shop
Most important thing that I noticed is at this Temple you get tirupati laddu, same as the laddu available at thirumala
I got my 2020 diary the calendars were not available As I stepped out, I noticed beggers, palmists who would try to strike a conversation saying there is a good news news waiting in next three weeks. If you do not respond they would talk about raghavendra swamy temple and ask contribution for annadanam. If you don't wish to engage with them silently Walk off.
Just by the side of the temple there is a shop which arranges for one day trip to tirumala along with the rs 300 darshan.
They charge rupees 1800 which is inclusive of breakfast journey darshan and coming back to Chennai
Tickets might not be available online, but if you go via this route you are sure to have a darshan with a lag time of three days. I.e if you go on 18 th jan then you can book for 21st jan
There are good eateries near the temple notably saravana Bhavan and Sri...

This temple is one of the oldest and most famous temples in the city, and it is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, the presiding deity of Tirumala Tirupati. The temple has a similar architecture and atmosphere to the Tirumala temple, and it is believed that visiting this temple is equivalent to visiting Tirupati. You can see the beautiful idols of Lord Venkateswara and his consorts, Sri Lakshmi @ thayaar, as well as the urchavar idols that are taken out for processions on special occasions. The temple also has separate shrines for other deities, such , Lord Krishna. The temple has three queues for darshan: one is free, one is for those who want to do archana or offer prayers, and one is for those who have special requests or donations. The temple is usually crowded, especially on weekends and festivals, so be prepared to wait for some time to get a glimpse of the Lord. However, the wait is worth it, as you will feel the divine energy and blessings of the Lord. The temple also has a covered corridor where you can perform your rituals, such as circumambulating the temple, lighting lamps, or offering flowers. You can also get prasadam from the counter inside the temple. There is a hand wash and disposal area inside the temple for your convenience. The temple also has a book stall, where you can buy books and magazines related to the Lord and Hinduism. There is also an office room for the temple authorities, where you can contact them for any queries or services. There is also a shop outside the temple, where you can buy souvenirs and items related to the Lord, such as idols, pictures, stickers, keychains, etc. The temple is well-maintained, clean, and filled with a positive vibe. The temple authorities are very particular about preserving the sanctity and calmness of the place. They also organize various cultural and religious programs throughout the year.
