I stayed at this hotel in Sept. 2025.|Despite clear instructions that I needed a good AC in a peaceful area, they allotted a Room next to their Kitchen. The AC was manipulated to not cool beyond mediocre. It took two hours of AC to achieve semblence of cooling.|I had to visit temple that evening and requested to let the AC run whilst I was out, this was denied. I pointed out the loud chaotic noises from Kichen next to my room, they said they will change the room when I returned.|When I returned at night around 8:20 p.m., they refused to change Room. |I had to leave early next morning. There was no hot water. Reception said to ask Housekeeping, who never responded.|The Room was full of Mosquitos, the toilet flush was leaking, the toilet was the worst I had ever come across.|This Hotel does not know hygiene, they are deceptive, unreliable and not Hospitable. They need to learn what Hospitality, cleanliness and hygiene means.|Avoid...
Read moreI was rather worried arriving in Chennai as the city was only recovering from a terrible monsoon..240 deaths, thousands left without homes...sewage and drinking water damaged. ||This 38 year old budget hotel is mainly used by Indian pilgrims very polite and happy to help an elderly woman travelling alone. I felt very safe.||My room was on the first floor - no lift - had help with my luggage - the room was very big and basic - pink walls, freshly painted , a huge double bed with clean sheets.||The bathroom was in a bad state...old and needed painting badly...but clean-||Free wifi - no breakfast. Next door there was a vegetarian restaurant. I chose this hotel for the position - right in front of the famous Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple Tank.||The road was crowded, lots of shops and stalls filled with fresh fruit and vegetables.||This was the true India I loved.||I booked this hotel through Cleartrip and...
Read moreStayed at this place for being close to Ramakrishna Math, Chennai where we attended a temple function. Do not expect great things but it is a simple convenient place with ample parking space. Location is very convenient for being at the heart of the city. Rooms are large with wide and long beds (very uncommon these days). Ideal for family with kids. Very good veg restaurants are available below and in the next building. Room service is also available. Guests staying here must visit both Ramakrishna Math and Kalpeswara Mahadev Temple. Try to attend RK Math evening Arati at 6:30 PM and it is worth the time well spent. I will put it as a value for money. There is no lift but the staircase is excellent with gentle slope, small steps and very wide. Opt for road facing room with balcony. The temple tank is in front and one can enjoy the view in...
