Skate Park: Took my kids (6y.o and 10y.o) to the skate park with rollerblades - well maintained, great facilities, kids of all ages. (Note that you can't bring toddlers on Bimbas into the skate park). Unfortunately its pad-locked over night and only opens at 8:30 so you can't go very early morning.

Exercise Facilities: They recently installed a very large set of TRX exercise facilities (including rings, rope climbing, parallels of different heights etc). Came back the next day in the morning (when there weren't 100s of kids climbing over everything) to use them....

גן הפעמון הוא גן עירוני גדול בירושלים. הגן ממוקם בסמוך למרכז העיר, בין השכונות טלביה, המושבה הגרמנית וימין משה. מבחינה טופוגרפית, שטח הגן הוא פתחו הצפוני של עמק רפאים. ממזרח נתחם הגן בידי רחוב המלך דוד, כשמעברו השני גן בלומפילד.

הגן הוקם בשנת 1976 על חלק ניכר משטח "מתחם עומריה", לאחר שתוכנית רחבת היקף להקמת מגדלי מגורים יוקרתיים ובתי מלון במקום בוטלה עקב מחאה ציבורית, והוחלפה בתוכנית צנועה יותר שכללה גם פארקים ושטחים פתוחים לפי הצעת צוות בראשותו של האדריכל דוד קרויאנקר. עם זאת צפונית לגן הוקם ב-1983 מלון לרום (המלון שינה את שמו למלון ענבל) ומדרומו אמור לקום מלון של רשת הארבע העונות. בקרבת הגן קיימים מלונות נוספים.

הגן נחנך במלאת 200 שנה לעצמאות ארצות הברית, ובמרכזו הוצב פעמון שהוא העתק של 'פעמון הדרור' המפורסם בפילדלפיה, אשר העניק לגן את שמו. מונומנט אחר הוקם ברחבה בחלקו הצפוני של הגן. שם "בוקעת" מתוך הקרקע דמות של דרקון העשויה בטון. על-פי השילוט בגן, הדרקון מכונה ג'רי.

ברחבי הגן ניתן למצוא תיאטרון קטן מאבן לכ-500 צופים ומתקנים שונים כגון מרכז החלקה על גלגיליות, גני שעשועים לילדים, וכן מגרשי כדורסל, קטרגל, פינג פונג, ומ-2010 גם מגרשי כדורגל חופים בהם מוקמים יציעים זמניים המכילים מאות מקומות בעת טורנירים. בנוסף פועל בשטח הגן גם תיאטרון הקרון שבשנים הקרובות מתוכנן עבורו מבנה חדש וגדול יותר בעלות של כ-5 מיליון ש"ח. בחודש מאי 2014 נפתח בגן סקייטפארק מהגדולים בארץ שעלות הקמתו מעל 10 מיליון ש"ח ושטחו כ-2,500 מ"ר. בסקייטפארק הוקם גם יציע מוצלל לשבעים צופים ותאורה לילה שיאפשרו לו לארח תחרויות סקייטבורדינג.

ב-2016 אושרה תוכנית ותיקה להקים בצידו הדרומי של הגן טיילת המכונה "טיילת דובנוב", על שם הרחוב הסמוך, שתכלול שבילים לאופניים והולכי רגל, ספסלים ותאורת רחוב ותקשר בין רחוב דובנוב המגיע סמוך למתחם תיאטרון ירושלים ולידו גם לאתרים כגון וילה שרובר, בית הנסן, חורשת הירח ובין מתחם התחנה. עלות פיתוח הטיילת הצפוי הוא כשני מיליון ש"ח. בין האתרים שתקשר הטיילת ניתן למנות את גן השושנים, תיאטרון הקרון, הסקייטפארק, חזיתו של מלון הארבע העונות המתוכנן וכאמור מתחם התחנה...
