I had very bad experience with the staff. Not gonna recommend this place to anyone and I hope management will read my review. When you come to Terme you want to relax, but in Terme Merano I had very bad and stressful treatment. I came to to receptionist with the ticket which I had bought online on the official website, but my voucher was empty (probably problems on the website), but I had all confirmation with the services, day, time and guest in my email. I told it to receptionist, he was rude with me from the first talk, he said “manage this problem by yourself and go in the some nearest cafe, because you don’t have internet connection, but without voucher he isn’t let me in”. I tried to explain that I have internet connection and the problem is that my voucher is empty, but I have all my confirmation. He said “he doesn’t know what to do and go manage this problem by yourself”, this receptionist talked with my on the high notes and I ask to calm down, because I spoke with him with normal tone of voice. When I started to ask to return money, because Terme Merano took my money and not gonna provided me the services, this receptionist phoned to other staff and started to talk with his colleague in German on the high notes and irritably talk about that lm Russian or Ukrainian, he doesn’t know and in this moment waving his hand in front of my face. This was so rude and unacceptable. When his colleague has come, I almost cried because this behaviour. His colleague managed this problem less than half of the minute, said “excuse me” and gave me voucher. But this was really terrible experience with nationalism notes. Of course after 30 minutes argue and this kind of treatment, I wasn’t ready to go to this place. Please, control your staff and...
Read moreWe did not do our prep work when we visited. We knew we should go, and our friends who live in Meran go there all the time. On the last day we finally indulged ourselves and went. It is an awesome experience. There is not enough signage to prepare you for what you need to know. We should have brought towels. Better: also bring warm terrycloth bathrobes. As far as I know, there is no way to rent or get towels there. There wasn't a line, and the guy at the ticket counter was alone on the phone and not helpful. We eventually made it to the pools but the way is NOT obvious and there are some things you should know. 1. When you go downstairs to the pools you first encounter a bunch of small lockers that hold about a small purse, or maybe two wallets and keys, for a deposit of 1 euro coin. Then you enter a larger changing room section with big lockers that we didn't figure out until we were leaving. They are activated by the chip in your wristband, so you can open one and reserve it and put stuff in there (clothes, backpacks, etc). Then you pass though the men's or women's showers and bathrooms to get to the pools.
The pools are awesome. We enjoyed the warm indoor/outdoor pool, the hot tub, the nature pool (without chlorine, cleaned by minerals and plants) and the steam bath. It is easy to spend two hours here. If you (like us) do NOT have towels, there are hair dryers you can use in the changing room area that did the trick for our hair and swimsuits. They do not allow phones to take pictures, but I did see some people taking pictures of the turtles near the nature pool, and I wish we had documented the pool experience somehow. Go to this every...
Read moreThis was not at all the experience we were expecting from a spa while enjoying our vacation in Italy. After some confusion on how the change rooms worked (as no one explained the process), we entered the main spa area where we were immediately greeted by loud noises, children running around, and packed pools. It really seems more like an amusement park than a relaxing spa. When we shared this disappointment with staff, we were encouraged to try the saunas but it was mandatory to not have clothing. We understand this is customary in Europe, but we were very uncomfortable by this idea. We gave it a try wearing our towels and were greeted with many unwelcoming sights. As we were expecting a calming spa experience, we were expecting this in the clothing-mandatory spaces. As a place to relax I wouldn’t recommend this “spa” unless you are comfortable with nudity in the saunas.
Unfortunately, after only walking around and being in the spa for 30 minutes, they were unable to refund us for the 3 hours we purchased. Originally, we asked for pools only but when asked to add saunas we naively said yes. It wasn’t until after we paid we were told clothes weren’t allowed. At the end of this, we walked out on a 60 euro loss and gave our passes to the next...
