This was one of the only places that was open, but not a cafe or pizzeria. The menu had English, German and Italian.
The only section without English was the beer section. They have a lot of beer to choose from so I asked my server to recommend the best one.
She immediately pointed to a beer on the list and I ordered it without hesitation. If she decided that fast, she must be certain.
Unfortunately, the beer wasn't that great.
I ordered the Consommé with Bacon Dumplings. It was tasty, but a little difficult to eat with the serving spoon they provided.
I also ordered a burger and fries because everything else looked a bit overpriced. I assumed they would make the burger "gourmet" since they looked like a semi-fancy restaurant.
To my dismay, it was just awful. It actually tasted exactly like a burger from Burger King. Now I didn't see a Burger King in town, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had just bought a whopper and up-charged it 600%. If I wanted a Burger King burger, I wouldn't have flown to Europe.
I see the hypocrisy in my review as I ordered a burger in Europe, but you would understand if you've ever had a truly gourmet burger in Europe.
I would not visit this...
Read moreWe arrived to the restaurant, they guy who approached us was very hospitable. After he gave us the menus another server a woman with blond hair was very rude,as tourist we do not speak Italian or German, even though we make an effort to communicate in English this lady was very hostile, we spoke in Italian what we could in other to be understoodles,we order beers the 200 ml,we specify this to this lady, when we receive the beers there were the 500ml we asked them to be changed, after this the lady was very rude even told us that we ordered the big one and not the small to which I replied no we told u specifically the 200ml,and told that to her in Italian and she understood. I work in the hospitality industry and I know how is the service and I completely understand when a guest is complaining about nothing but was not my case. The food was very good but as I said if the service is bad and even more she was very rude when we spoke English and about the mistake she had,I would never come back service is a very important key as well as respect to others...
Read moreI'd been to 3 other Forst restaurants with family and, as the only vegan, I'd always found the "usual" options: potatoes, grilled veggies and pasta with tomato sauce.
When I saw this one had a vegan curry in their menu, I decided to go there to celebrate my husband's birthday with the family. Booking was already a quest: nobody answered my online booking and, after calling the next day (speaking in fluent Italian), the man on the phone was extremely rude.
Arriving there, I decided to confirm with the waitress that the curry was truly vegan. To my surprise, she said there was a substitute chef that uses milk in this dish (first "curry" made with cow milk I've ever seen in my life...)! I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't asked her, because I'm not only vegan, but extremely intolerant to lactose!
After really insisting that I wasn't there to eat potatoes and salad, they provided some grilled veggies.
It was a complete delusion and we had come from far away. Besides, nothing at all for the birthday, they completely ignored this...
