Museo del teatro romano — Attraction in Lecce

I was incredibly disappointed with the Museo del Teatro Romano. At €4, it is absolutely not worth the entrance fee. The museum itself is a collection of poorly presented rocks and rundown replicas, with very little in the way of informative or engaging signage. Even more frustrating is the "teatro" section, which is currently full of scaffolding and wood planks, making it impossible to properly view. There's a small gap where you can peek at it from the street highly recommend doing that instead of paying to enter. We were also told you're supposed to be able to go down into the theater from the museum, but this access point was closed. Save your money and just catch a glimpse...

Absolutely do not visit - paid 4€ for two rooms with a few information about theatre that I could just read for free on google and for a view of the theatre under construction. I understand that they need money to restaurate the theatre but this is a scam in my opinion. You can see the theatre for free from the other side...

Gestione del Museo è pessima. Il museo versa in uno stato di degrado sia per quanto riguarda il concetto di museo, sia per quanto riguarda servizi e pulizia. I pochi pannelli presenti, non sempre corretti nei contenuti, sono sbiaditi ed illeggibili dall'umidità. La vista del teatro romano, dall'alto, attraverso delle grate è pressoché inutile. Al piano inferiore puzza di escrementi di gatto. La messa in sicurezza è ridicola, ai limiti della legalità e la stessa "ripresa" di mura e passaggi è operata in modo scorretto e distruttivo per la storia stessa dell'edificio. Parti murate a cemento, corridoi a vicolo cieco... Uno dei peggiori musei visitati. Questo museo contribuisce alla perdita della memoria storica, anziché salvarla. 3€ per biglietto ingresso, ma in realtà se non si interviene a più presto con criterio e professionalità, meglio...
