Milano Centrale Railway Station is a bustling transportation hub located in the heart of Milan, Italy. Having visited the station approximately four years ago, I can attest to the fact that it offers a seamless travel experience and possesses a distinct charm that sets it apart from other railway stations. One of the most impressive aspects of Milano Centrale is its architectural grandeur. The station boasts an exquisite blend of neoclassical and Art Deco styles, creating a visually stunning facade that captivates visitors upon arrival. The intricate detailing, soaring arches, and ornate sculptures contribute to the station's timeless appeal, making it an architectural masterpiece in its own right. The Milan station is very well connected to visit all Europe station. We took our Frecciarossa high speed Italian train from Pairs to Milan. It was a marvellous journey in May 2023 last week. The train took exactly 299 km per hour speed. VIDEO on my YouTube channel: Kulvinder station The main railway station of the city of Milan, Italy and is the largest railway station in Europe by volume. The station is a terminus and located at the northern end of central Milan. It was officially inaugurated in 1931 to replace the old central station (built 1864), which was a transit station but with a limited number of tracks and space, so could not handle the increased traffic caused by the opening of the Simplon Tunnel in 1906. Milano Centrale has high-speed connections to Turin in the west, Venice via Verona in the east and on the north–south mainline to Bologna, Rome, Naples and Salerno. The Simplon and Gotthard railway lines connect Milano Centrale to Basel and Geneva via Domodossola and Zürich via Chiasso in Switzerland. Destinations of inter-city and regional railways radiate from Milano Centrale to Ventimiglia (border of France), Genova, Turin, Domodossola (border of Swiss Canton of Valais/Wallis), Tirano (border of Swiss Canton of Graubünden/Grisons), Bergamo, Verona, Mantova, Bologna and La Spezia. The station has 24 tracks. Every day about 320,000 passengers pass through the station using about 500 trains, for an annual total of 120 million passengers. The station is served by national and international routes, with both long-distance and regional lines. Daily international destinations

A truly magnificent central station of Milan. Connection to multiple platforms including direct connection to Milan‘s subway system. You will find good ticketing via the vending machines or you can purchase tickets from a ticket cellar window. Shopping at this location is a breeze as there are many specialty shops throughout the mezzanine and sub basement walkways including cafés, take away shops, mobile phone vendors, and specialty shops. There is a toilet facility which you will be expected to pay for the privilege to use. The cost is only a Euro but you’ll be expected to have change. finding a bite to eat is no problem is there are many venues and also available A couple of the larger fast food centers available throughout. all of the eating venues are very crowded and busy as this station there’s a central hub for international travel from the airport to the rest of Milano, connecting directly to the metro. Arriving at the international airport you can grab a train to the Milano central railway station and then simply walk across to the metro subway and catch a train to anywhere in Milan. Be careful of pickpockets and shysters as they will be on the lookout to capture those unsuspecting tourist, as my wife and I getting onto the subway would pickpocketed after purchasing tickets using cash. The pickpockets will notice where you store your wallet and will target that area to obtain their bounty.

The station is good, and you can get through it by train to various cities in Italy. It is an important tourist attraction in Milan. But unfortunately there are rude employees, when you need help and you ask an employee at the station and you talk to him in a language other than Italian, he is treated very badly unfortunately and he does not pay any attention to you. In addition to the collection staff on the trains, they are like thieves trying to exploit you in any way, as the train tickets were cut from the ticket office, and when I boarded the train, he told me that the ticket was not valid and you had to buy it from him exclusively, so I bought a ticket from him for three times the price. When I arrived there, I asked if the ticket was valid. The ticket office told me that the ticket was valid and followed this train and was not used in the first place, and there was no problem. He also told me that I had been exploited and robbed by the collection officials on the train, especially the train that goes from Milan station to Voghera. Unfortunately, not once, but several times. They are thieves, beware of them.

Horrible station experience after being through Firenzia + Venice - they are working on part of concrete walkway as you bepart 1st class section of train - literal rebarb is sticking out over 1ft+ for an entire two train car lengths - our son tripped and almost busted his face trying to help a lady with her suitcase. No proper signage + no directions - information booth CLOSED - 1st store clerk was so sure and Asian (as if we were a problem even being there in a train station asking where to find information) Finally figured out the Cafe + small store helped me get bus tickets and somewhat understood where to go. The bus driver - a whole other story!! He didn't help anyone to figure out where the heck you were - some people getting up like 5 times thinking was their stop. He never really told us what stop he was at when stopped. Told us to get off where was supose to be but found out it 1 bus stop short of where suppose to be and wow the walk of basically no sidewalks and ripping the bottom of our bag to get to Airbnb.

The station can be quite overwhelming for visitors, especially if one is not able to speak Italian. There are numerous machines around the station where you can buy your tickets. Make sure you check the name on the machine before using. You can't buy a Trenitalia ticket at an Italo machine. Also before boarding the train, make sure you"activate" the ticket by sliding it into a yellow machine usually located on one of the many platforms. And in the event you are not sure what platform you are supposed to be on, ask! There are a number of Trenitalia and Italo staff who speak English. And don't do what I observed one person doing, get mad at one of the staff who kindly reminded her she was a tourist in his country. We don't accept abusive behaviors in our countries, so why should they here? Her name must have been Karen (boy those Karen's are getting a bad rap heh).
