Like the other museums of Pistoia not only worth for the artworks themselves but also for the really good presentation and friendly staff. This was a very positive surprise after countless old fashioned museums stuffed with unsorted and uncommented third class baroque paintings elsewhere in Tuscany. Bellissimo museo ricco di opere d'arte, all'interno del Palazzo Comunale risalente al XIV secolo, nella centralissima Piazza Duomo a Pistoia. Molto apprezzabile la collezione pittorica che va dal '200 all '800. Rimarchevoli soprattutto una pala d'altare duecentesca che si suppone una delle prime a raffigurare le sembianze di San Francesco, opera di Giunta Pisano, un trittico tardogotico di Giovanni del Biondo, e un altro trittico dei primi del 500 del tedesco Maestro di Francoforte. Suggestivo anche il palazzo che ospita il Museo, dalle atmosfere decisamente gotiche....

Tolles Museum mit ansprechenden Texten und Informationen über die Basilika San Zeno und die Kunstwerke. Das Museum ist Teil des Domkomplexes, daher können ehemalige Kapellen und Sakristeien besichtigt werden, neben den Gemälden und dem berühmten flämischen Wandteppich, welcher Pflanzen und Tiere zeigt. In fast jedem Raum, leider nicht in dem mit dem Wandteppich, sind Sitzmöglichkeiten, um in Ruhe die Kunst betrachten zu können. Informativ und interessant. Leider sind drei Räume wegen Umbauten geschlossen, so auch die Dachterrasse...schade. Vollpreis 6€,...
