La Degna Tana — Restaurant in Pistoia

We arrived and got seated immediately. The waitress was very friendly. There are vegetarian options to choose from as well as meat, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails etc. The portion size was decent, too. I think the food was a bit above average but the prices were quite high. What rubbed me the wrong way is that the waitress said she didn't know if mine was the veggie burger or if my boyfriend's burger was. Meat-free alternatives these days taste very authentic and while my boyfriend thought he had the right burger, the unease of potentially having eaten meat never left me. Maybe this can be improved by a "V" flag on the burger to make really sure. As a vegetarian, I really don't want to hear that the waitress isn't sure, to me it's a big deal because I have my morals. Amazing pub in the heart of Pistoia! Decor is outstanding and fits in the atmosphere, they have a lot of sitting spaces which can fit big groups. The food is wonderful made daily by an amazing team of chefs! I highly recommend tuna salad for a light lunch or if you are more hungry - burger is supper juicy - also there is great selection of beers and homemade traditional Tuscanian desserts! Staff is extremely friendly and speaks English, which helps when you are like me and is shy to speak Italian :) Owners are very often there looking after their guests and they are very friendly too. Non siamo riusciti a mangiare.

Abbiamo trovato lo stand della degna tana a una fiera. Avevamo una visita guidata alle 14, alle 13 decidiamo di prendere da mangiare. Ordiniamo un hot dog e due patatine, mentre la cassa macina ordini dopo ordini. Ci mettiamo in fila per ricevere il nostro cibo, e scopriamo che l'attesa è infinita, tra un panino e un altro passano forse 10 minuti. Loro si giustificano dicendo che essendo all'aperto il vento ha fatto spegnere la griglia e devono riaccenderla, ma allora perché la cassa continua a ricevere ordini? Perché non decidono di sospendere momentaneamente il servizio per permettere di servire chi ha già ordinato senza provocare ulteriori ritardi e disagi? Alle 13:40 chiedo gentilmente quanto manca, il tipo mi dice che se si ferma a guardare le comande perde tempo e non ha intenzione di controllare. Chiedo se è possibile rimandare la comanda a più tardi, per mangiare dopo la visita guidata, o se è possibile avere un rimborso, stessa risposta, non ha la minima intenzione di controllare gli ordini. Alle 13:55 decido di rinunciare al cibo e al rimborso, e avverto il tipo che può cancellare la nostra comanda perché ormai è troppo tardi. Organizzazione e attenzione alla clientela pari a zero.

Attenzione per vegetariani e vegani: spero che in sede funzioni diversamente, ma in fiera la griglia è una sola, e i burger veg vengono cotti assieme a quelli di carne, quindi cuociono contaminati dal grasso animale dei burger cotti...
