I can't say enough good things about Taverna Gargantuà—we loved it so much that we went there twice during our holiday! This is not only the best restaurant in Pistoia but, in my opinion, one of the best in the entire region. The atmosphere, the service, and especially the food are all absolutely outstanding, and I'd say they are well worth a Michelin star.
The Parmigiana di Melanzane was a life-changing experience. It was the best I have ever had—the crunchy, cheesy taste was simply unforgettable. I ordered it as an antipasto two days in a row, and I would honestly go back to Pistoia just to eat it again!
Every dish we tried was fantastic. The Tortelli, the Tagliatelle, and the Fiorentina steak were all incredibly delicious. And the tiramisu for dessert was the perfect, tasty end to our meal.
The service was impeccable both times we visited. The second time, the restaurant was packed with two large groups celebrating, but the staff remained very friendly and on-time.
I highly, highly recommend this place. It's an incredible dining experience that you...

For appetizer, we got the "coccole" dough balls, which seemed pretty popular because many tables around us ordered a version of them. I got their special of the day, which was a tortelli dish in a cream sauce, and I don't think there was anything they could have done to make it better. I finished dinner with a dessert, and I wish I had ordered two because they were to die for. It was a beignet-like pastry filled with a cream cheese sauce and topped with caramel. Definitely recommend...
Read moreFantastic waitress, Alice, very fair prices, exceptionaly wonderful food with clean clean clean tastes! We recommend the beef as it was extremely tender and cooked to exactly how we liked it. The fried chicken and fried zucchini flowers (took me back to Il Fantino in Agnano, Naples to 1983)..... WOW! tasty tasty. The Rhubarb digestive was flavorful and also crafted to clean the palatte. See the picture as this is made by their own staff!!! Talent, friendliness, capable staff, great food and great prices make this one a one-of-a-kind Osteria that you should visit - especially on days when there is a market. The outside seating is perfect at this time of the year. ...
