The main road runs through the old town from Porta Catania to Porta Messina.

The pedestrian street is full of cafes, bars and places to buy souvenirs. There are plenty of luxury designer shops around too. There's churches to visit too.

The buildings have prettily decorated balconies.

Off one end of the road you can visit the teatro antico di Taormina.

LAMENTABLE. Intentaré ser claro: El mundo es un lugar mejor si esta calle y Taormina en general no existiesen.

Está bien que los ‘Philipp Pleiners’, los pijos y pijas que intentan ser bohemios con el dinero de Papá y Mamá, los polioperados y polioperadas mileuristas con ínfulas de clase alta, los Papasitos y Mamasitas de 60 años bronceados y los busca-likes en general tengan sus espacios pero NO. No puedes vender en las primeras búsquedas de google que Taormina es un pueblo de los que no te puedes perder por que NO. No es un pueblo. Nadie reside. Lo más parecido que hace alguien a residir es ir a trabajar y eso convierte un supuesto pueblo en un conjunto hortera de tiendas, lounges, rooftops y restaurantes. Una trampa para turistas. Sed honestos y vended Taormina como un atrezzo para posturear. Ya irán única y exclusivamente los que busquen esa superficialidad y no habrá víctimas como yo. Por diós, si he visto a un humano pagar por testear un Ferrari parado mientras otros seres humanos le hacian fotos y le animaban a darle al gas.

Y ojo, en España hay pueblos turísticos y hay alguna que otra trampa para turistas pero ni por asomo tan maquiavelicamente vendida como Taormina. Que no es que no tenga alma sino que la tiene negra.
