Be advised, dont go unless you are open to being actively insulted. My family went for my sisters 18th birthday and they were lovely, however the next day we went and had a terrible experience. One waiter that had welcomed us in the other day started off very amicably continuing from the night before. This quickly descended when he asked if we wanted another plate of crisps/nuts and when he was told no thank you he gestured to my sister and said (albeit through broken english) she is too slim and needs to eat more, and then told my other sister (15yo, who is also slim) that all she does is eat and referred to her as a 'gordita' (little fat girl) and after at least 2 minutes of him calling my sister fat and saying that all she does is eat he then moved on to my mum and was calling her 'super big'. At no point was there any awkward laughter and when told he was being very rude in both English and Italian he persisted. This was a real shame as there was lovely live music and the drinks were very good so what was otherwise a very nice venue has been soiled by a waiter making inappropriate comments at a 15 year old girl and her mother. Will not be...
Read moreThe boss was the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. 3 of us were seated when we arrived, we ordered 3 drinks and the boss came over to accost us and the waiters right in front of us at our table saying we didn’t buy enough and they shouldn’t have given us an available table which was empty when we arrived because we only ordered 3 drinks (clearly as we had just gotten there). What did he want? for us to order 10 drinks each the second we sat down. My friend who speaks Italian said to him he should treat us like this as we are paying customers who wanted to drink at this restaurant/bar…. we had and argument with him and left. Cool looking place but don’t bother going unless you want to treated like dirt. Never been treated so poorly at an establishment in my life. If giving a no star was an option that’s what I give it. (Not surprised there are so many bad...
Read moreOur only proper sit down(that’s what I would call it) meal of our holiday in Taormina(1st wk September).Like quite a few restaurants in this area it’s outside tables are on the steps going up the alley.Cost €80 for that we had 2 x Aperol Spritz,2 x Starters,2 x Main meals,1 dessert & 2 x 0.75ltr of water. Can’t remember(writing this 6 wks after visit)all the prices of individual items apart from the Aperol Spritz’s at 8€ each. Which was the dearest we paid all holiday for our drink of choice in ITALY,but in my opinion one of the best, you could taste the Aperol all the way to the bottom of the glass. My starter "Caprese Salad" I must say was the biggest let down,my tomato’s were fridge cold, something I didn’t think "Italians" did, might be a Sicilian thing, but reading other reviews maybe not.Great live music from a singer covering...
