We bought tickets online, however there was no wait at the museum to buy them. We ended up entering through the gift shop which was perfect as you register there for the visit (and purchase tickets if you haven't already). They ask you for an ID document (ID card, driver's licence, passport, etc.) in order to get an NFC Lavazza cup which is used in the museum. Once you return the cup at the reception, they return your document to you. I am not a person who tends to use the interactive options in museums, but in this one it is a must. It was so fun and so entertaining, I found myself looking forward to any chance I could get for another screen or NFC place. Everything you do is "saved in your cup". At the very end, you can place your cup at the final NFC kiosk and input your mail so all you've done is sent to you for free. This includes some awesome Lavazza footage as well as several photobooth pictures you can take. Once you're done, you get to enjoy a cup of coffee before exiting. The whole museum really is an experience and everything is so grand and over-the-top in a good way. The staff is super friendly and speaks perfect english which is in itself helpful. I would especially point out how kind the ladies working at the reception and gift shop were. Some items I wanted were sold out and the lovely lady working there helped me either pick out alternatives or even get the display products. All in all, if you are in Torino, even if you are not a coffee fan, this is such a great...
Read moreMuseo Lavazza is one of the most interactive and well-organised museums that I have ever seen. And the cost was just 8 euros per person.
The museum starts with the history of the factory, then it continues with the history of beans and the places they come from. You have new technology all the time in order to approach the information in the best way possible. There is also a very nice part with the advertising that they made throughout the years and you can take pictures and send to your e-mail for free on their special places. Taking pictures with the phone or camera is also allowed in all the museum. At the end, there is the surprise tasting of coffee, which is included in the price of the entrance.
Make sure that you buy some coffee from the store after your visit. They sell special selections of coffee that you find only there and no other else in Turin! For only 3,39 euro, I bought the green Arabica with a parrot on the package, which is my favourite every day coffee!
Make sure that you book in advance. On Monday and on Tuesday, it is closed. Even if they don’t sell online tickets for the days that you want, it is worth to go there, because there are always tickets available at the desk or at least you can buy a...
Read moreWe found out about this museum by chance, as in the Esselunga supermarket it is possible to exchange collected points for a ticket to the museum (maybe this information will be useful to someone). The museum itself has two floors. On the first floor, it is possible to learn about the history of the coffee brand, discover different coffee varieties, and explore the production process, which is very interesting. All the information is presented in an interactive way. At the entrance, a small cup is given, which needs to be placed on special spots on the screens to activate audio and video content. It’s both entertaining and engaging. The second floor features a bright and colorful area where it is easy to take beautiful photos and simply get inspired. Afterwards, the route leads back down to the first floor, where there is an installation with a space and stars theme, and a zone where delicious coffee is offered. Important to note: tickets must be booked in advance through the museum’s website, with a specific time slot chosen. We didn’t know about this beforehand, so when we arrived, the earliest available time was two hours later, and we had to wait. Overall, we had a wonderful time and definitely recommend visiting...
