The room we had at Hotel Ca'D'Oro was extremely beautiful. We checked in on April 7 and checked out April 9. The bed was firm but comfortable enough to get a decent night's sleep. The channels on the TV had a few in English, so that was a plus. The shower door didn't do a good enough job of keeping the water from leaking. After a shower, the water would leak as far as the toilet. We had to keep setting out towels to dry all the water. The outlet in the shower has a built in converter that let's you use an American style wall plug, but only supports small things such as shavers. Don't plug your curling iron or straightener into the outlet, it wont work and you run the risk of ruining your equipment. Our room was secluded from the rest of the hotel and rooms on ground floor. It was nice having the privacy, but there were no views from our room, just an alleyway and a view of the hotel's front entrance lobby. I had to take off 1 star due to not being able to use WiFi. Our room must have been made out of lead because we couldn't get any phone service or wifi from our room. We had to go to one of the windows and press our phones against it to even get a wifi or phone signal. When we spoke with someone at the front desk, they explained they were having trouble with the WiFi, so I'm not sure if this played into our connection issues. The Hotel is within walking distance of many great sightseeing locations. The Rialto bridge was about a 10 minute walk. There are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. For breakfast, they had sweetbreads, hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruits, normal bread that you could toast in the toaster, but no scrambled eggs. They had a coffee machine that made amazing cappuccinos. Overall staff was very friendly, but I took off 1 star due to not being able to use wifi or have any service in our room and because the water would lead across the bathroom floor, ROOM 105.

I don't know how this hotel compares to others in Venice. However, we had a fab stay. We booked a Junior Suite for 3 of us (2 adults and a child). The view from the suite windows was exactly as you'd imagine Venice to be... right out over a corner of the canal. Gorgeous. But, for 3 of us it was a little cramped. Decor was lovely. Sockets were not convenient though, even though we took an extension cable. Layout of room was awkward for 3 people but doable. That's why I marked the room down. Nevertheless, the vibe was exactly what we wanted and I would thoroughly recommend. And the little roof terrace was just lovely. We took a bottle of fizz up there and some cake for one of our parties birthday. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was basic but was topped up and the lady looking after breakfast was friendly and working non stop to keep the visits topped up. On the last night we had to swap in to a "triple". The view was still good, but not as good. The decor was OK but not as nice as the suite. But for 3 people, that's definitely what I would recommend. Our trip was cancelled twice due to covid. All the way through the the 2 years of rearranging and more rearranging, Reception could not have been more helpful and friendly with accommodating us at a later date during difficult times. In summary, fab service, great location, relatively good value for the accommodation provided. Just do some research on the rooms if you're a family. Would def go back. Thanks for having us!

Stayed in a double room nr. 309. Pros: Nice location, quiet, comfortable beds. Shower / bathroom is rather small, but functional. Even has access from water. Cons: Electric kettle and cups are included, but clearly nobody thought they would be used - cord is about 10 cm long and the socket us 0.7 m away at the floor level. If you put kettle on the floor, the plug still cannot reach the socket, so you have to put the kettle on one of the drawers from the table. No spoons are included either, and the plastic mixing stick is too short for the cup :) The only table is rather cluttered, as it has a box with tea and cups, a kettle, a small TV(???) and a table lamp, making the table unusable. A hint - you can put the lamp and the TV on top of the wardrobe, and this will free some room on the table.

Perfect location. Will recommend this to friends and family. The rooms were small, cozy is a better way of putting it but we'll equipped and enough. We didn't spend a whole lot of time there anyway! There is a roof terrace that no one else was using and you get a good view of the city and starts at night. We found it very cool at sunrise! The staff were very helpful and clear and no one disturbed us. It's location was close enough to the dock were the airport ferry arrives/leaves so arriving in the night wasn't a problem either with our bags. The general area was quiet so made for a more relaxing trip to mingle with the locals!

Stayed on my own, very small single room but everything you need & comfortable. Staff very helpful with directions & such & always helpful & friendly. Very heavy clunky key fobs so recommend leaving keys at reception if you want to travel light for the day. Carpets etc a little tired round the edges & hotel certainly isn't 'grand' but it was well priced & clean & friendly so no complaints from me travelling on my own & on a budget. Hotel well placed for vaperettos on grand canal & airport water shuttles from Fondamenta nove. Rialto bridge also nearest landmark (10 mins stroll) so you can always find your way back!

The junior suite is an absolute treat to yourself and your partner. The room is quite large with all the amenities available (including a mini jacuzzi bathtub). It overlooks a canal right in front and present right next to a square where you can enjoy your breakfast. The rialto bridge is a 5min walk and San Marco square is 10min walk so it’s located in a really convenient place. You can even reach the bus station to Murano and Burano is 5min. Didn’t try their breakfast but I am sure it must be good. The staff are really warm and welcoming. It was a great experience for us. Definitely recommend!
