I WOULD’VE said I’d stay here again. That is no longer true. ||My husband, myself, and our infant daughter stayed here three nights. The first day was great; they actually gave us a bigger room than booked so our daughter had room to move around. Gave us the wifi, asked if we wanted breakfast included, etc, standard hotel things. The AC was difficult to work and were exhausted so we just went without overnight. Our daughter was really hot and sweaty and fell asleep an hour later than usual once we put a cool washcloth on her. In the morning, we were finally able to figure out the AC and left the hotel to explore for the day, excited to come back to a comfortable room. ||When we got back to our room in the late afternoon, the AC had been shut off and it was hotter in our room than outside. It was annoying but whatever so we turned it back on. We got some snacks for the night as I’m breastfeeding and get hungry in the middle of the night and didn’t think about it again. ||Until the third day. Our daughter woke up super early and they have quiet hours so we slipped out, got some pastries, and slipped back in to our room to not disturb anyone. There was also a sign with an X through it on pictures of food on the front door, so I was trying to be cautious that it seemed they didn’t want food in the foyer, which had some nice furniture in it. ||We went out for the day and when we came back in the afternoon, our daughter was screaming crying and overly tired, so we were hurrying back. When we got into the lobby, we were stopped by a new worker who told us that we were not allowed to have food in our room. I was confused why they were telling us this when we had openly brought up pastries and gelato a night before to our room and had not been told this rule. They said they found crumbs of our pastries and that food was not allowed but could be eaten in the common area which was behind the foyer. I was flustered by this so just said okay, explained about our tired baby, and took our daughter upstairs for her nap. ||My husband put our key in the lock and turned it both ways but it wouldn’t budge. He went downstairs and explained and the same lady came up with a master key and unlocked it. A special lock had been put in place that couldn’t be opened by our key, only hers. We took that to mean they did that so we would have to come down and be told about the food rule. They quite literally locked us out of our own hotel room that we had hurried back to for our screaming daughter just to make sure they told us to not eat food in the room. And the cherry on top, we got into the room, and the AC was off, AGAIN, leaving the room hot and it took longer for our daughter to fall asleep, needing a wet washcloth again. ||We were not told the rule about the food when we first came in nor we were told not to use the AC. The AC thing just seems like a way to save money but it made us miserable especially when we were sweating from outside. ||The food rule also just seems dumb. We were only on the first floor, but this rule seemed excessive for someone on a much higher floor. Our hotel room is also the only spot our daughter could move around freely, so the idea of leaving it to go downstairs and eat a quick snack knowing she would be squirming around was not an easy concept to come to. Furthermore, there’s a tea kettle and a fridge in the room. If food isn’t allowed in the room, why the fridge? And outside of the one sticker on the door leading into the hotel, there was no other notice about the rule, which meant it was wildly up for interpretation. I took it to mean no food in the lobby because I’ve never been to a hotel that forbid food in the room. A better system would have been signs in the room, but there were none. ||This seems to me like a new rule. I looked at previous reviews and it seems they had an unresolved ant problem from September 2025, just a month earlier, so I’m guessing this is their bandaged way to fix the issue without getting rid of the ants. ||The location is great. But locking a guest out of their room, turning their AC off several times, and telling someone they can’t eat in their room isn’t telling of a hotel, but made me feel like I was in...
Read moreIt is not our first time in Venice and already had several hotels in this city. This time we had chosen this hotel because of its location and price. The location is perfect, close to everything. Tourist attractions, public transportation, shopping, etc.
Contrary to previous reviews about this hotel, I want to make it clear that you are in a hotel, right in the center, this in a small street. Any noise from outside can indeed be heard, especially if you sleep on the street side. This is part of the city!
Inside there is an enormous amount of noise, but this is not only due to the hotel. You can, if you listen carefully, hear the air conditioning, but this is not really disturbing. What is worse is the rude behavior of the guests, going up the stairs like elephants, closing the doors with a heavy hand and talking loudly (even shouting). This is not the fault of the hotel, but behavior of a gang of great apes! Respect from some people is far from it....
Only thing that bothered us were the keys of the door lock on the door. We slept on the first floor at the front and could hear every tut tut when entering. Perhaps a tip to turn these off.
As for cleanliness and hotel staff: girls at the front desk were super friendly and helpful, kudos to you guys. Room maintenance was top notch and nothing to complain about, kudos to you guys as well. We saw that you guys had to work all round, from breakfast to maintenance.
Breakfast was adequate, that's all that can be said about it. You get what you pay for. No elaborate buffet, but made-to-order breakfast. Due to the small scale, you indeed have to give hours in advance, otherwise it runs into the hundred concerning feasibility. Keep that in mind. We had no problem with this, considering we had time, after all we are on leave.... Maybe a tip towards breakfast, is another variation if guests stay longer.
In short: a good hotel price/quality in an excellent location with super staff, who do everything to make the guests' stay as pleasant as possible. Is an old building (like everything in Venice) and this converts to sounds.

Read moreWe spent 3 nights in this hotel end of April. On our first night, the room was extremely warm, but the AC didn't work.. We slept with the windows open which helped a little bit, but made us being eaten alive by mosquitos. Next morning, we explained the situation and asked in the reception if we could have the AC fixed. The woman at the reception was very nice and asked the manager. We heard a voice (the manager) annoyingly telling her (in Italian) that we can just open the window. Eventually he came out of the room and told us in a very rude and patronising manner that the policy of the hotel is to switch on the AC only in May (meaning in 3 days...) and that we really had no reason to feel warm. So just a pause here to clarify: it's not that the AC was broken, they just didn't want to turn it on for us. Here is an idea: maybe you can let the people that payed for the room (and are actually sleeping in it!) decide if the temperature is the adequate or not?! After exchanging some words of disagreement with him, the rude manager just turned his back to us and left. We continued being eaten alive by mosquitos in our warm room, with the AC turned off. In my opinion, this is an expensive hotel to receive this type of treatment. The rooms are fine and the rest of the staff was very nice, but if such a basic issue is met with so much reluctancy, inflexibility and rudeness, I can imagine others would receive the same type of treatment....
