It's a small waterfall and not very exciting honestly. Still a nice place to enjoy the silence, good atmosphere in the middle of the forest.
Be careful not to get lost though: you have to walk like 10 - 15 minutes via a hiking path through the forest to get here. I wanted to take another path back (the one labelled Takanosu/Mt. Sengen), which I spent over an hour on before I finally got back to a road, and that was only after I'd luckily made the right choice twice, when the path branched without any signs! It's in the middle of the forest and my GPS didn't work...

The hike to get to the falls is all up-hill, and since we were traveling with a toddler we took a taxi to the entrance which was well worth the money in the summer heat and very convenient since we didn’t see any parking. Read moreEasy downhill hike from sengen yama - part of the trail running from yumoto to ashinoyu. Easy access from kowakidani station and also has a bus stop near by. For those on a longer hike, there's a public toilet as well as a convenience store (with toilets) a few minutes by walk from the trail. The waterfalls are beautiful. The pond water is clear, fresh, and there are small fish. Could luckily spot a white crab (apparently a speciality of the area...). Good place to have a break/lunch. Lots of...
