Simple cafe on the way up from Hakone Yuemoto to Gora, in Kowakidani station (close to the Hakone open air museum). That serves a well done, unpretentious Taiwanese style lunch set for a very affordable price. Recommend lunch set: Taiwanese donburi that you can choose the size (very homemade feel, simple but good)+ a mini salad+ dessert (Taiwanese tofu dessert or a sweet that changes seasonally) and a drink. It comes around ¥1,500 per person. The big highlight of the place in my opinion is the shop itself, ran by a Taiwanese couple that offers a good and friendly service in a beautiful location with views to the mountain range of the area. It’s very cozy and welcoming in an area full of fine dining and western style caffès.

I discovered this charming new two-story building near the popular Hakone Open Air Museum Its cozy bar table set against a backdrop of rolling hills, offering a serene view of nature as you dine. I had the ginger chicken broth with rice, a true delight with its thick, rich flavors. The tofu pudding was a good dessert. What sets this place apart is its relaxed vibe, complemented by music that resonates with the tranquil setting. This place offers a delightful culinary experience that is definitely worth the visit, especially for those who appreciate a serene atmosphere and quality food at reasonable prices.

A little lovely cafe owned by an adorable Taiwanese couple, serving authentic Taiwanese food which are not easily found in Hakone. I could not help but tried almost all the dishes on the menu, and all of them were amazing, definitely reminded me of the friendly Taiwan that everyone cannot wait to visit again. They mainly do delivery in Hakone area, but there is also a little table for you to take a break and eat. It seems that they are extending their second floor for more seats! Looking forward to visiting them again! Now I have one more must-visit place to go every time I go to Hakone!
