 Got the worst experience at this hotel within my journey in Japan.  Do suggest not book the hotel on the net , especially you go with ur children. (there is possibility that you may be asked to pay extra fee when there is number of people problem caused by the reservation system between the hotel and Booking/Agoda..  The hotel passed the buck to customer and also was unfriendly to customer(no kind attitude from the manager), even the hotel should accounts for the problem(room reseravation:number of people)..  The hotel tends to ask customer to pay extra money for the problem where the hotel also has responsibility (pls refer to my comment as below, and the previous google comment from Jamil Hijazi(France)).

I booked a non-cancelled room(2024/7/8-7/10: an adult and a child (10years old) on Booking), and chceked in on 2024/7/8 late evening. But the hotel told me what I booked is only for an adult only. I dealt the issue with the hotel manager on 7/9 morning , and also showed my booked information(an adult and a child) of Booking App to the manager. But the manager told me , they received the 2-night room (one adult only) reaervation from Agoda, and this is not their problem/none of its business, he asked me to figure out the problem with booking by myself. I only pitifully called Booking s evice center to figure out the problem by myself and also sent emails with my reservation screen shot of BookingApp(7/8-7/10: an adult and a child (10years old) ) and with my payment order(show one room 7/8-7/10),but Booking said the reservation order condition is only for one adult, and didn’t recognized its own APP’s reservation info.(7/8-7/10: an adult and a child (10years old) ). Due to the above unclarified issue, the hotel manager asked me to pay one child fee( around 15,000yen per night / eaquals to adult fee, I paid for one night). And due to the hotel manger passing the buck to customer 100%, I decided to leave the unkind-attitude hotle on 7/9, so I paid one child fee/one night around 15,000yen , then left for other hotel. The hotel kept the all money ( both 7/8-7/9 +7/9-7/10 accomodation fee: around 15000yen + 15000yen), even though the hotel also had responsibility for the problem/issue. As a responsible hotel,it really should refund the extra fee( around 15000yen) and 7/9-7/10 accomodation fee( around 15000yen) back to me.

*And till now , I paid efforts and still fight for my rights and interests on this issue with Booking via my credit card(dispute transaction) via my local Consumer Protection Council, still wait for the result.

*According my observation, such problem may result from the hotel’s policy (not accept child, but accept older child(above certain age), I also phoned the hotel, the hotel told me my 10 years old daughter is accepted as soon as I made the reservation “7/8-7/10: an adult and a child ”as Booking around Jun. And the hotel manager said that the reservation is from Agoda(and it seemed that Agoda got the reservation from Booking). When such problem occurs, the hotel pass the buck to customer(me), and asked customer(me) to deal with Booking by myself, it is none of...

I booked a room with a traditional tatami, including traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. The place is elegant and service is very friendly and accommodating. You'll find some employees can't speak English so it takes some patience and minor hand gestures to clear things up, if there's much difficulty in communication they'll ask you to wait a moment for them to get an employee who can understand English.

WARNING TO ALL TRAVELERS (especially those interested including dinner/breakfast to their stay): the traditional Japanese food featured is very good and filling BUT I do NOT recommend it to those who are not open to eating exotic dishes and who are only familiar with sushi, maki, teriyaki, ie. Westernized Japanese cuisine. It is a very different dining experience. I have read reviews saying how food is inedible and I see why they may say that as it is immensely different from how the cuisine is showcased in most Japanese restaurants around the world. I recommend going out to eat as there are a lot of restaurants/bars nearby the hotel for those who want to play it safe.

The hotel is a less than 10min walk from the nearest transit station. Not a lot of obstacles to go through, just the occasional narrow, busy, sidewalks and entrance is well seen from the street.

Overall the place is clean and staff are approachable. I do recommend remembering or have on-hand a paper of some simple Japanese phrases to help through check-in; "please write the total price of stay", "receipt please", etc. They give you a small package of the rules, policies, menu of their restaurant, and amenities' info after check-in to clear things up and make things easier for...

Stayed for 1 night at their Japanese style room with a private outdoor bath as a family of 3. Overall my experience was sub par. It did not match what we paid. ||We paid about $700 for 1 night, with dinner and breakfast included for 3.||Check in: 4/5 there is no early check in available, not even if you offer to pay extra. They check you in right at 3pm on the dot. So try not to come too early like we did. ||Staff: 5/5 they were very kind and helpful especially the young lady that served our meals. While they don’t speak great English, they tried their very best to communicate everything. ||Meals: 5/5 It is traditional Japanese food and we expected this even with our toddler. Luckily, they switched out his breakfast with a child meal. If you have kids, try to ask for a child meal ahead of time. You can also order other items on their menu for them as well. The food overall was delicious and filling. We were so full at the end of it! The best part was that it was served in our room. ||Japanese style room: 1/5 I’m sorry but they really need to upkeep and clean the rooms better. Our a/c was barely working, our room was so hot. The vents are extremely dirty and dusty. There is a weird smell in the room. The bathroom where you shower/ clean seem to have mold all over the ceiling. Proper spray of vinegar can easily clean that. For Japanese standards, it felt grimy and unwelcoming. ||The overall hotel needs a deep clean and repair in many places. I will not be...

We had a great 2 nights stay at the hotel. It is located just a short flat walk from Hakone Yumoto station. The room was spacious, tatami style, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the river. En suite bathroom and toilet was also provided, although we never really used the bath in the room as the public onsen was so quiet and spacious, we just used that everyday. We booked the half board plan, which includes breakfast and dinner. Both days breakfast and dinner were of a different menu and they even had a simple japanese song and dance performance on our 2nd night dinner. Menu was well presented and printed in English so that you know what each dish was. All meals were exquisite, especially the snow crab. The highlight, of course, was the public onsen (men) with a large indoor pool and outdoor rock pool and wooden tub. It was never crowded, as a matter of fact, most times it was almost like we had the whole place to ourselves. So we used the onsen morning and night. It was so relaxing. There was also free beverages in the lounge area with a foot bath facing the river on the outdoor deck. We had an excellent stay at Hotel Kajikaso and highly recommend it.
