The best food I had in Japan. If you're near Hakone you have to try Bootea. The Pork Donburi was simply incredible; amazing flavours and the meat was so tender and went well with the perfect sticky rice. It was so good we went back the next night to try the pork katsu and it was also excellent. Not greasy at all and the perfect amount of crunch and flavour.
Everything is reasonably priced (main courses are about 2000-2200¥ at time of writing which is about £10 and are of a decent size)
The staff are all very nice and service is good.
The restaurant is quite small (around 20 seats) so larger groups should either try to book (if that's possible I'm note sure as my partner and I just walked in) or split into smaller groups. Bear in mind the evening opening time is 17:30 to 19:00 so don't go too late!
Totally delicious. I can't wait to go again if I ever get the chance to be in...
Read moreDelicious! The Boo bowl is great. The pork is so good, but just keep in mind the egg they serve with most dishes is soft boiled so the egg whites are barely cooked, and the yolk is fully uncooked. The intention is to break the yolk and mix it so the hot rice cooks it / heats it up.
The set is the perfect amount of food with the main donburi dowl, salad, miso soup, and ice cream at the end. Very chill vibe, and they have a little bit of English knowledge of needed. Not a lot of English though, so definitely learn how to at least point to something to ask for it nicely.
If you're staying in hakone it's...
Read moreWe got the boo bowl, pork cutlet curry and the special, horse mackerel. All were amazing and at a very reasonable price point. The mackerel was delicious, not fishy at all while the pork bowl had generous portions and great flavor. The pork cutlet curry featured a very unique tasting curry that we hadn’t tasted before on this trip and was very good, while the pork cutlet was nice and crispy. We came right at opening time and there were already many people there but plenty of...
