This scenic hiking trail stretches from Kita-Kamakura Station in the north to Gokurakuji Station in the south, passing by several of Kamakura’s most significant temples and landmarks, including Tokei-ji Temple, the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), and Hase-dera Temple. Even though the trail cuts through the heart of the city, it feels surprisingly remote, surrounded mostly by nature. The hike isn’t particularly challenging, but there are a few steep sections along the way, so wearing sturdy shoes is highly recommended.

This beautiful hiking trail runs from Kita-Kamakura station in the north to Gokurakuji station in the south. The route takes in some of Kamakura's most important temples and monuments, such as the Tokei-ji temple, the Kamakura Daibutsu and the Hase-dera temple. Despite the fact that the hiking trail runs through the middle of a city, you hardly notice it: the route runs largely through nature. It is not a very difficult hike, but there are some steep parts. Good, sturdy footwear is a must.

Great hiking trail - I started in Kita-Kamakura to end at the Great Buddha of Kamakura. Lots of signs in Japanese and English, lots of shrines on the way or close-by.

Easy trail with multiple end points depending on how long you want your hike or where you want to end up. Start/end is near Kitakamakura Station & behind the Daibutsu. I see many people with young...
