Buds of cherry almost made it to bloom when I last visited Dankazura a few weeks back and now I would believe it’s a full Hanami and the entire atmosphere and picture must have been totally amazing. Many years ago (when I still worked in Kamakura) I was utterly horrified when they chopped down all the big sakura trees in the middle of the main road. Then they renovated it and made a longgggg walkway in the middle of the road and replanted young Sakura trees along it. Now we get to enjoy them at full bloom! What a splendid...

若宮大路 🛤️【表參道】若宮大路是鶴岡八幡宮的表參道，也就是前往鶴岡八幡宮參拜的道路。 ⛩️【鳥居】共有三個超大鳥居，分別為一の鳥居、二の鳥居、三の鳥居 🛣️【段葛】二の鳥居到三の鳥居中間高起地面的人行道，越往八幡宮會越窄。 🛠️【年分】是源賴朝在1182年為祈求妻子北条政子順產所建 若宮大路，從鶴岡八幡宮到比濱的一條直線延伸的大道。全長約為1.8公里。 前往神社參拜的道路稱為參道，在神社中央正前方的直線道路叫「表参道」，鶴岡八幡宮的表參道共有3個鳥居，是超華麗的巨型表参道。 若宮大路也是著名的賞櫻地點，到了春天成為櫻花穹頂覆蓋著天際是鐮倉必來的拍照景點，秋天是金黃樹葉，造就另一種風景，這就是日本的美。

從第二個鳥居延續的參拜道路叫做「段葛」，意指神社前堆積著一段高起來的葛石人行道，這種看上去在道路上又鋪置一層道路的工法也被稱為「置石」，由於其構造罕見，被指定為國家歷史遺址。因為800多年前只要下雨這裡就會泥濘不堪，為了方便行走就建了段葛，段葛這個詞沒有其他地區使用，是專屬鶴岡八幡宮而創的詞彙，往八幡宮的路上，路會越來越窄，為了讓視覺上會更寬更長。 �...
