Matcha heaven in Kamakura! Kamakura Chaya Tababenoshi was such a wonderful surprise! I tried the Coconut Matcha Latte and Mango Matcha Latte — both were refreshing and perfectly balanced, with a unique twist on traditional matcha. The coconut one was creamy and subtle, while the mango added a fruity brightness that worked so well with the earthiness of matcha. The real standout was the Matcha Tiramisu Crepes — soft, delicate layers with rich matcha flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. The presentation was beautiful too. The matcha brulee crepe is a scrumptious treat. They only have a small wooden spoon to eat with so it's a little tough to handle as "finger food" and doesn't crack the brulee top well.

The whole thing is not too sweet -- the brulee top is the sweetest part. It is filled with a matcha cream, plain stiff-peak whipped cream , a little dollop of matcha ice cream, and flaky biscuits and strawberries at the bottom. The crepe is chewy and has good matcha flavor. I really enjoyed the texture variety and all the different components complemented each other well.

Today is very hot, I was worried that I couldn’t get a seat here. But the place was quiet when I arrived, lucky me. I ordered a brulee. The top layer is caramelised sugar and match and cream. The cream is plant based cream rather than animal based. So some people might not like it but I personally enjoyed it. Then follows by matcha ice cream under and some biscuits inside I guess? I couldn’t taste what it is but tastes good. Then another layer of cream!! Very rich in content and flavour....
