I love this museum! The great audio guide with text version that can be easily translated into English. I learned a lot of interesting things about the Buddhist sculptures that are in the museum's permanent collection. The wifi is also provided 👍 It was one of the most informative visit I was experiencing in Japan. I was lucky enough to visit a temporary exhibition of Japanese dolls. I really love it too 😍 It is forbidden to take pictures inside the museum. Friendly staff and a small but interesting museum shop. Very glad that I saw the sign and visited it 😊

The Twelve Heavenly Generals were particularly impressive. A national treasure sword that has been donated to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was also on display. The mother-of-pearl work decorating the mounting was also beautiful.
