Osaka Family Travel Guide | Kobe is Actually Super Fun!

Randomly came to Mosaic after checking in the first day of the trip and stumbled upon a great place. There is so much to see here and even having been to Tokyo and Osaka, I feel like Mosaic is simple yet very interesting on its own. I felt the mall was very kid friendly. If you love to shop for souvenirs and gifts, this is your place. You can find Kiddy Land here, Snoopy Town, Totoro, Sanrio and many more character shops. There’s also a lot of food to choose from. Local foods, steak houses, noodles shops, western fusion, you name it. There was one shop in particular that I loved. I didn’t catch the name but it sold various childhood Japanese snacks and chocolates, and you can buy them all individually at great prices. As a foreigner, I think this is a great way to help us sample all sorts of sweets and snacks without having to buy the entire packs. We came back here at night to see the night scene and didn’t expect to see fireworks. Unfortunately after we had dinner, the stores were all already closed. 8pm is such an early closing time compared to where I’m from. But that’s okay. Just went back. Parking here was cheap. We were there for 2 hours. And parking was at ¥200.

A 5 star location with 5 star variety of shopping, dining and activities for the whole family. It’s just by Meriken Park. There’s lots of stores to shop in from clothing, shoes, to trinkets, chocolates, characters like snoopy, Ultraman, Sanrio and some other Japanese ones I’m not sure. The whole place is interconnected and you can also access Anpanman character museum and mall which is also interesting. Will be spoilt for choice of dining for various Japanese and western restaurants or snack bars. Easily walkable from Kōbe Sannomiya city Center with great views of the port skyline in day or night.

A Mediterranean style shopping mall attached to Kobe Harborland. There is not much to do in the mall except few eateries. There is exclusive Calbee shop which have limited edition of item to offer. To take the Concerto cruise , you need to pass through this mall. There is also seafood buffet restaurant on top floor. You can complete the whole outdoor mall by walking within 10-20 minutes.

The Mosaic Garden is one of the best shopping / entertainment complexes in Kobe. It is spacious, quiet, and offers a stunning view of the harbor. There are numerous dining options, many great shops, a Ferris wheel, an Anpanman museum and even an arcade. Great location to enjoy a drink and relax with an old friend. Also highly recommended for couples and families with small children.
