If you all are visiting the Bamboo Grove, do check this viewpoint. We will reach this viewpoint after penetrating the Bamboo forest. From here, we could get spectacular view of the Katsura River majestically flowing between the mountains. I really admired this scenic view. There are benches to sit and relax, then breath the fresh air before getting fascinated with the marvelous view of nature. I do regret visiting this place towards evening where it was nearly dark. I would recommend you all to visit in the morning or during the day time to fully enjoy this...

To get here from arashiyama station, turn left to the togetsukyo bridge, don't cross the bridge, turn right. Follow the river then you will the sign to the observation deck. This route consist of many stairs tho, so you might want to get here from bamboo forest. Not so many people going here, so if you come to arashiyama a bit late go here after the bamboo forest and tenryu-ji. I like the area so much, there a re benches to rest your tired feet while enjoying the scenery. Take your time and bring your food here...

Couldn't find a way up from Tenryu-Ji Temple, so I took the longer route along the Katsura River, passing by Hozugawa River Boat Ride end point, and Kameyamaya. You will soon find a path up near Yusai-Tei Gallery.

The Observation Deck is just a short 15-20 mins climb up and away from the crowd at the bamboo forest and shopping street. There were less than 5 people on top at 10 am. There are seats on top, so you can take a breather and absorb the amazing view of the river from above! Should be...
